Hi All,

I would like to give all of you an update on my doctors appointment today! Well first must tell you that I could barely walk this morning and my Mom had to come get me for my doctors appointment! I called him because I was not sure he wanted to see me with all the pain I was in, but he said definitely come in and will do something for the back and leg pain! Also the RSD was out of this world in pain today! I was a 10+++++++++ all day until I saw my neurologist!

I am not sure what type of injection he gave me today, but it was immediate relief!!! I could barely walk into the office with a cane, but I was actually walking pretty good coming out of the office! It was amazing how much better I felt after the nerve block! I said to the doctor when I was laying on the table that the pain was really bad going down the left leg and he started to laugh and said I see it I know and then boom he gave me the injection that almost sent me flying off the table today!!! It hurt for a minute, but boy was it well worth it!!!! I have to go back in a couple of weeks because he is worried that it is going to come back again! I must say that I am a definite believer in these blocks! They may not be for everyone, but they really help my back pain!

Well I did go and buy all the stuff for Lasagne today, because my Mom wanted to stop at the supermarket on the way home. So I hope that I feel good enough to make it tomorrow. It costs enough to make, but I am making an extra tray that I can put in the freezer!!!! Ginny when we all get together maybe I can make it for all of us! That would be awsome, because you can make the cookies! Ummm I can see the calories already!!!!! Why don't you all come over for dinner tomorrow night! We can have a feast and watch a movie!!! Tell me what ya think!

Well the rest of my Christmas presents came tonight and I am going to try and finish wrapping them so I can cook tomorrow! Take Care Everyone and Hope that you are all having a joyous and pain free night. LOL and Best Wishes Always!

Dawn,

Glad the nerve block is helping you so much!! Even if it is temporary, the time you have with less pain is definitely worth it. And I reckon you do understand about how we felt with Chester since you've dealt with it yourself. I kind of remember now you telling us about that. I found a thing you hook to the collar and when you activate it, there is a light that blinks, and you're supposed to be able to see it for at least 1/2 mile. It's one of her stocking stuffers. Sounds like you got a true champion for a mom! Mine has been gone for 16 yr. It still seems weird not having mom around.

Love,

,

I know how you must feel without your Mom, my little brother has been gone since 1982 and it seems that he just left on his journey yesterday! Still miss him terribly and when my neighbor died this summer, the police office that told my Mom, sister, and myself about Teddy was next door, because he knew Rusty well and looked after him because of his handicap! It was the first time he had to tell a family about a death and said that he can still remember that day! I am sure he can from the way we all reacted that day. He stayed with us for hours until my Dad was driven home from work! Sorry cannot talk anylonger about this!

If you can, please let me know all you can about this thing you bought for Chester's collar. Holly is pure black and you cannot see her at all when she is outside at night, so that would be a Great idea and would love to get it for her!!!!!! Please let me know if you can, where you purchased it.

I have about five more gifts to wrap and thought I would take a quick break first, before I finish. Sometimes wrapping can really play a game with your back, so I needed a break so I do not wake up unable to walk! Well thanks for writing back and hope all is well with you and Tom. Take Care and LOL Always!!!!

Dawn,

I am so glad you got some relief from the blocks. I KNOW how horrible that kind of back pain can be.

Your lasagna sounds wonderful! Next time I'm in your area, I'd love to stop and have some! I am a very big fan of Italian food!

I've been baking, making fudge, etc. I even attempted a fruitcake, but used a recipe that uses real fruit in it. It's been sitting for a few days, and every day or two, I douse it with this bourbon/grand marnier mix.. Can't wait to try it. Not looking forward to the hangover, though.

I'll make the cheesecake before I go to visit with my sister and her family on Sunday.

We are having all the children, my grandbaby Jake and all the "significant others" on Christmas eve. I think Jake and his mommy & daddy will stay over at our house on Christmas eve. so we can all be together for his first "real" Christmas morning (he was only 3 weeks old last Christmas).

Best wishes for a wonderful holiday!

Hugs,

Jo

Hi Dawn,

I really wish you could find out the name of that shot! I could really use something to get me to walking again. Right now even the tops of my toes are burning.

I am so glad that you have gotten relief from this block. I am also hoping that I haven't had whatever this block is yet and I can get the same results! That sure would make for a Happy New Year!!

Dawn - After reading your post, I'm thinking that I might buy the stuff to make a pan of lasagna. It's a lot of food for just one person, but I could cut it into smaller portions and freeze them. That way I'd always have something up in the freezer that i could warm up. I try to keep a few thing like that in the freezer for the times that I'm up to eating real food but still too pooped to really cook. Maybe I'll make pan of it on Sunday. Have a wonderful holiday ! Barbara...I make a huge pot of sauce every 2 months and make enough to freeze alot of it. I do the same with Lasagna and lot of other meals. I got in the habbit when i worked and had to cook for me and the kids when i got home usually at 7ish. So I would cook almost for the whole week on Sunday..or freeze things so I would have easy meals all week long. It's a good idea and then when you are too tired to really cook a meal..then you can pop something in the microwave or heat up spaghetti and just microwave the sauce. I know the kids like it cuse if I have to go out and they have to get dinner ready for themselves they can just microwave a meal that is homemade. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas...Hugs..GinnyBARBARA TORREY wrote:

Barb,

That is exactly what I am doing. I am making two pans, one so that my Mom and I have it for Christmas Eve and I can send some home for her and her girlfriends that are widowed and will be alone after the Holiday. I am also making a second tray for myself, Mom , and my neighbors to share! It is to much for me, but great to freeze and have when not in the mood to cook! I like to have salad and a roll with it! Take Care and LOL!

Jo,

Christmas sounds so wonderful in your home and it reminds me so much of what Christmas used to be like for my family. You actually brought some tears thinking about the past and put a great smile on my face. My Mom always used to make cheesecake, but has not since Dad is know longer with us. But don't you worry we still eat like pigs and this year we are having home made cream puffs! OH the calories!!!!

I am so glad that the kids are staying with you, and you will be able to enjoy Jake on Christmas morning! From the pictures I have seen, he is going to be so excited and so much fun to enjoy! Please make sure you get some pictures for all of us to enjoy with you and your family!!! I would love to see them!

Well time to get dressed and start the Lasagne! Please wish me luck, it is going to be a long day. LOL and Best Wishes Always! Jo to you and your family have a Blessed Holiday Season and know that I only wish the best for you and your family!!!

Felice,

The next time I go for an injection which is sometime in the middle of January, I will ask exactly what injection he gave me! This way maybe if you have not had this type, you might ask your doctor about it! I am amazed how much better these injections are compared to the ones that my pain doc was giving me! You would have never known that I could barely walk yesterday! I even took Holly for her first walk in about two weeks! She was so excited she did not even know what was going on, because she has been going to her Grandma's and running in her back yard or she goes on her run in my back yard. It felt good to be outside and going for a walk today! Just could not believe in less than 24 hours how much better I am feeling! It is amazing because, my pain level went from a 10++++++ to a 5 today! I really hope it can stay this way for a while, even though I am still taking major doses of methadone. I do not get loopy from them and

they are really starting to help since they were increased again! I know without the methadone I would barely be able to walk, because of the MS also, but very happy on my outcome today and wish you the same! I also had terrible pain in my feet and toes yesterday which I never really get and that scared me very much! Since I have the RSD in my right knee, I was terrified that most of the pain I was having yesterday was in my left leg! I really think that I have RSD in my back and I am going to have both my doctors check this out! I am also going through an awful sweating stage right now and look like I just got out of the shower because my hair is completely soaked! This happens to me whenever I am put on steroids and know that this was a steroid type injection yesterday! I guess it is worth a couple of real bad days of sweating if it takes away most of the pain. Well have to wait and see!

Well once again I hope that you have a great holiday and a Happy New Year! LOL and Best Wishes Always!!!!
