Guest guest
Hi Lin, I prefer sedation too with the blocks. I guess it is just personal preference and what ever we are comfortable with. What did this idiot doctor do that you reported him? I am glad you stood up for yourself, these doctors think they can get away with anything. Take care, Love Jai I don't know I only went there 3 times the last time was when I felt the entire bier block, That was when the nurse stapled on a response card to my discharge paper. But I took it further, I don't even know that what I reported got followed up on they took my number in case they needed to ask me more questions, but never heard from them. So who knows. The clinic where I had the blocks done, it is their standard procedure. The first time I went there I had to have someone to drive me home or they wouldn't do the block. Like I said there was no way that I could've laid on that cold table on my stomach without some kind of sedative, because my knee is where the RSD started. I hope that you have a great holiday Lin No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. So who knows. Lin, I had a bad experience with a nurse when getting the blocks. She was the only one that had trouble getting the IV needle in. I think since she was looking bad she made the comment that the time for the block was so short I didn't really need it. After my block, and laying there, I asked why I would need to take Valium next time if I didn't need the sedation, then started bawling. They had the doctor come in but I was crying too hard to tell him. I wrote him a letter later explaining the problem. And like you, never heard anything so didn't know if it was addressed. Months later I called the main office, not a happy camper. She put me with a head nurse there, who got a furious response and words I don't usually use. I had to call back and apologize soon after I settled down. She said she'd have liked to talk about it personally instead of on the phone, so asked if I should come in. We set a time for the next day. She invited my pain doctor to come also. It was actually him who assured me that it was written in her folder in case someone else ever complained, and they had talked to her. Of course she won't admit what she said. When I got to the procedure room where we were going to talk, a nurse told us that the Twin Towers had been hit. I'm a rather persistent person and make people deal with the problem. That's one of the things that has happened with RSD--responding in ways that I never did before. I'm doing better, but still go off occasionally, mostly to medical staff. Love, N.__________________________________________________
