Jan,

I agree, if the government keeps harassing Doctors who prescribe pain meds, there are going to be a lot of patients who simply cannot deal with the pain and the "stigma" of being considered an addict because they need pain meds.

I don't know of a good way to stop it, though. Those that do abuse some meds make it much more difficult for the real patients. Maybe a database of patients with documented chronic pain who must have pain meds?

They also have to crack down on the bad Doctors.. there are some out there.

Wishing you the happiest of holidays!

Hugs,

Jo

I want to say to my fellow members , to have a happy Holiday. I have not posted in a few weeks because of Severe pain and the up and down weather here in Florida.

We had a freeze, and then it chnaged to the 70's and then another freeze. It has taken its toll on me. I finally got a new doctor, thank God. It was a Godsend that this doctor checked everything my Glands Under my arms for lumps and gave me all my meds that I needed.

I am pretty sure I am going to take legal action against my last Doctor that discharged me from his Practice as when the Hurricanes where her and My daughter in Law took me up to Tennessee I ran out of my meds esp my Cardiac meds that should not have been stopped because I could have had a siezure.

I finally after these months have a meeting with the Attorney at Florida Hospital Heratland division to discuss this doctor, now the Hospital is really getting concerned about this doctor and I know I have to wach what I say, I was acerified mediator for 10 years in our County Court System.

The Attorney for the hospital is in charge of the hospitals Ris Management section, and he explained to me that his own Mother has a disease like mine that gets bad results when she goes to an ER and gets bad faces from Doctors becasue either they dont believe her or they dont know what it is, so he is aware of my situation and he even told me that the area I am living in is not good for My RSD/CRPS, and Diabetic Neuropathy and bone disease in my spinal chord.

This new doctor knows my other doctor but his manner is completly different and said candidly that he learns from his patients and is very gentle, and he gave me a flu shot at that. So now I hear that the DEA is comming down on Doctors that give pain meds, I cant understnd this. Yes there are abusers of there meds, but then the majority arent, I e mailed back to someone who sent me that DEA e mail, and I told that person if the Governmnet starts cutting our pain meds, there will be a lot of suicides from the horrible pain if its not brought under control. I for one have had this since 1988 and there was no problem all these years getting pain meds. But in the last 2 to 3 years we have been looked down as addicts.

I just wanted to say to all of you for great support when I have gone throug horrible things in my life.

Hugs

and a Merry Christmas

Jan In Florida
