Guest guest
Hello Group. I have a question which I hope someone can answer,I had a real tough over the week-end concerning a doctor who refused to treat me.I live in BC Canada, but am in Ottawa with my husband who is on business here for a year, consqently I left my doctors behind, well I became quite ill with bronchtis we tried to get a family doctor, but nary a one would accept new patients plus because we were only going to be here for six more months I did not have all of my heavy medical file, just one sheet of paper giving my medical history plus all my meds.We ended up going to a walk in clinic, the doctor there at first refused to treat me,she finally gave me some antibiotics after I started to cry, then she humilated me,by insinuating that I take too many drugs, said she knew nothing about chari and syrinx, and further more she doesn,t want to know any thing, she told me and my husband twice that she will not treat me again, she even wrote it down,my husband asked her for some direction where I could go to get my pills refilled short of going back home, she replyed that you must get a family doctor,we told her we tried but was told over and over again that no-one was accepting new patients. She rudely said " I can,t help you " she had no knowledge of any medicine I was taking even neurontin, she made me feel so bad about myself, how can doctors be this way,my question to all of you is can doctors refuse to treat a patient? Thanks for listening,it was my first bad experience with doctors and I hope the last,it really disturbed for a few days.regards Jane from BC.
