Guest guest
Yes. Most often if there are amalgam fillings put in at the same time. But the braces can do a lot by themselves. He was sick and out of school for 6 weeks before I figured it out by eliminating everything else first. Once the spacers and all the metal was removed, he was able to function once again. Waited two years to try again. This time another orthodontist was able to insert gold without incident (so far). We had to interview quite a few to find the good doctor. We even investigated Invisalign, but this is not available until all of the adult teeth are in place, usually age 17 or more. Good luck, Mal
Guest guest
Hi, There are a number of possible issues. I'd go find a good cranial sacral therapist. Braces can put pressure on all those structures and lock them down. Another issue is the possible problem from metal crossing the midline, as thought to be a problem in Chinese/meridian medicine. A third is simply the metal causing reactions. We found a biological dentist that oragamied up this weird little appliance made of special German nickel-free wire. My daughter can remove it when she gets brain swelling from chemical exposures. After an adjustment, this dentist makes an effort to check that she still has a cranial rhythm. Even without nickel, sometimes the appliance triggers cold sores.
