Guest guest
Now that I have a surgery date, I'm working on getting some of my ducks in a row, so to speak. I asked my mom if she could come up to stay with me and the baby because when I have the procedure, I'm not sure how easy it will be for me to get around and get her to school and things like that. She's 4. So my mom said no problem and didn't really discuss the procedure with me at all, I hadn't told her about it previously. She called me back and told me that she was booking a flight and wanted to reassure me that she wouldn't tell the family that I was doing this....she would just tell them that I needed her because of the divorce. Now, I wonder why she would feel that having gastric bypass is more embarassing than getting a divorce? I hadn't thought to deeply about discussing this with people, because the people I love and talk to regularly are pretty supportive of me now matter how crazy they may think my decision is. However, it never occurred to me that my mother would think this is embarrasing and something to keep a " secret " . I'm not embarrassed....I'm excited. And when I next see family members, and they ask how I lost all the weight, I'll tell them I had wls. I never contemplated, making up a story or something. Anyone else have experience with this? --------------------------------- Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail beta.
