Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Well, it's finally here, my first appointment with the surgeon, Dr. Allam--is tomorrow. His practice has a web site and I've read it to death. It is very informative, but being here in this support group has taught me so much already! I'm not sure if I'll get a surgery date tomorrow, in fact, I don't think I will get a date, unless Dr. Allam feels my current state of health will put me in more jeopardy by waiting, or not. I read a post from Dr. Allam's bulletin board (nothing like here, not even close!!!). and the surgery coordinator, Nanette wrote a post on what happens when you get to the first appointment and what will happen. It's very detailed and what I think will happen, is that I'll have whatever testing I haven't had yet. I'm happy to have had a lot of the tests they require, already. When I am told who I need to see and what tests left I need, I'll be on the PHONE making appointments like you wouldn't believe!!!! The doctor will give me a date the second time I see him, I think. I have plans to go to a support group meeting with my sis in law (I still can't drive.) She's done great, and lost 140 lbs in 18 months! I'm getting a bit anxious and nervous now. I am that type of person, though. I want to be relaxed about it because I've learned SO MUCH since I joined this group, and I'm not afraid of surgery. My husband is taking me to my appointment tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. and I know two of the people in the office I've talked to already are SUPER NICE! My sis in law says that they fight for you if there are any gliches of any kind. They want to get me to the surgery as fast as they can with as little trouble as possible. Still nervous...... I know you all will be with me tomorrow " rooting me on. " I just know it! And of course, I will share with you all the details. Thank you all so much, I'm finally at the beginning of my journey. Wish me luck, Love, Cathy 306 or so/and anxiously awaiting tomorrow
