Guest guest
Hi . I sure feel for you with the pain you've been through with your daughter. When mine was that age I felt exactly that way, that my world was falling apart. I hope you are finding support through this message board. There are many of us out here, so at least you know you're not alone! My daughter is 33 now, and has kids of her own. I wish I could say that the problems end when they're teens, but sadly that is not the case. I wanted to ask you what you meant when you said you had to get a CHINS order to regain control in your home. I realize that a chins order means 'child in need of supervision', but I'm just not sure how that would help you regain control in your house? By the way - NAMI = National Association of Mental Illness. Blondie I had to go to juvenille court and get a chins order to get control back in my house. Well my daughter would not stop seeing this girl (now I understand that it has alot to do with the bpd)and we are still trying to get this girl to leave my daughter alone. Has anyone else gone through anything like this and if so any words of advice or support. I feel my entire world is falling apart and I have aged 10 years. I am so afraid that when my daughter turns 18 she will leave and make the worst decision in her life. Thank you for taking the time to read this...... Guest guest
>Hi Blondie, Thank you for being so supportive....it is nice to know that other people who have been through the same thing are nice enough to share their experiences with others. CHINS (Child In Need Of Services)....is basically the state taking action to encourage the child to listen. We made a contract with the juvenille judge so my daughter would stop running away, skipping school, and listening to her parents. If the child breaks the contract the judge can authorize community service or other consequences. It has helped in my case. Because of the mental illness it is so tough not knowing when my daughter is manipulating me from the illness or because she wants to get her way. She lies constantly and her dad and I never know what will happen next. > > Hi . I sure feel for you with the pain you've been through with your > daughter.
