Guest guest Posted December 30, 2005 Report Share Posted December 30, 2005 My 14 year old adopted daughter was just diagnosed with PTSD and BPD. The only symptoms that she doesn't have of BPD are addictions and self- mutilation. I adopted her when she was 9 1/2 so she has quite a history of trauma and abuse. There are many layers to her problems. Even though she has made progress in the last 5 years, because of her age, I have come to believe that I can't give her what she needs in the way of structure, consistency, and above all safety. Nor can I withstand her rages and disruptions to our home and abuse of our friends and me. I am wondering if anyone in this group has any information about RTC in Massachusetts that they'd be willing to share.
