Guest guest
Liz, have you thought of consequences for her cussing at you? I mean, obviously you can't go and wash her mouth out with soap (however tempting that might be...) But you could 'fine her' monetary amounts, like withholding allowance, if she gets an allowance, making her pay money back each time she curses. Also, you can just leave the room and refuse to listen to a tirade. Or have her leave the room..... Just try not to get into any shouting matches with her, since these are definitely a no win situation. Reasoning didn't seem to help with mine, went in one ear (if it even got there) and out the other, if you know what I mean. Grounding her from communication with peers might help, if she cannot talk respectfully to you, then she has no privileges to talk to others. Less use of things around the house that she normally takes for granted : ie: hair dryers, make up, car (if she drives yours, or you pay for it in any way). There are a number of 'incentives', that you might employ to show her that this behavior will not be tolerated. Let us know what's working, or not working, ok? When she was little her dad would tell her she was not good as her brother because she was a girl. I have all ways been there for my children. After their dad walked out on us they was scared that I would leave them.Sometimes she makes me feel like she hates me.She dose not like for me to leave her along and my son gets mad at her because how she treats me.It will take a while but I will learn how to deal with her. It has taken me a lot of years to find out what she has. I will take one step at a time. Liz
