Guest guest
No " mainstream doctor " is going to agree with anything you say or any treatments you choose. You have to be proactive and get him to a DAN that will treat him if that is what you want. You also want a doctor who is edfucated on chelation etc. You may have to go out of state - we do..... My pediatrican told me the DAN doctors were quacks etc. My son has made great progress with Supplements, MB 12 injections, GFCF diet and soon chelation. Best of Luck! > > I am a mother of a 25month old son who is dx'd ASD. > I am currently treating for yeast, taking ezemyes, vitamins, > mineral...you know the works. Guest guest
I don't know these drs, nor has my son been to either of them. I do not know what their protocols or testing consist of. I am trying to find a dr here, also and have seen their names. Dr Tenpenny, Cleveland. I think she does chelation, but her specialty is like NAET or something Dr Lonsdale, Westlake. Does alot with diet, chelation, I think. They, at least, have heard of metal toxicity! Let me know if you find one. a mom to > > I am a mother of a 25month old son who is dx'd ASD. > I am currently treating for yeast, taking ezemyes, vitamins, > mineral...you know the works. Read more about it here: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_hair_test.html I have seen such great results with so far and am > very encouraged for his recovery...but very nervous about chelation. > I believe it is neccessary, don't get me wrong...and I am willing to > do whatever it takes to help my son. Well, I guess I think that there are a lot of different things that can help. Chelation helps a lot for many kids, but not all. Also many other therapies help. I do think that mercury is a factor in many kids with autism, but that does not mean it is the only factor, or that every kid with austism has metal toxicity. Also, since metal toxicity is so systemic there are many things that help to alleviate some of the symptoms. I don't but here are some lists you can look at for possible candidates: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_find_doctor.html You might also try calling the DAN doctors in Ohio and see if they know anyone in Cleveland who they think won't look at you like you've lost your mind regarding mercury poisoning. Worth a few phone calls, perhaps. Hopefully someone will write with recommendations in Cleveland.... good wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Hi , I don't think anybody really knows this but I'll give you my theory. I think there are two reasons. One is that kids that make a lot of progress with educational interventions may have less severe biological problems than kids who don't make such fast progress. My kid is a good example of this, I think. He is not a " gut kid " - no diet problems, no bowel problems, didn't meet the counting rules and didn't seem to need a lot of the supplements that other kids need. I think he does have some kind of problem (probably metals) but I haven't figured out the exact nature of it yet. The other reason is that everybody's idea of recovery is different. A lot of people would say that my child is recovered but I don't consider him so because he still relies on medication to help him be as functional as he is and he still has some issues that need to be addressed. He functions as a normal 5th grader now but I want to be sure he can go off to college in a few years and be successful so we need to keep working. I'm nervous too about chelation but I'm beginning to believe that metals really are the basis to all the other biological problems our kids have and I haven't heard of anyone lately say their child was recovered by medical interventions without it. Keep reading and you'll feel better about it, I think. By the way, you can get a hair test without the approval of your doctor. Read in the files about how to test before you do it. H.
