Hi all,

Well, I'm online and trying to get the required vitamins and minerals

and protein powder that my dietician told me to buy. But I need your

help!

I've been to four web sites (bariatriceating.com, vitaminworld.com,

puritantv.com, and GNC) so far, and I'm having trouble locating

exactly what I need. It's a bigger project than I thought!

This is what I'm having trouble locating:

Calcium Citrate with vitamin D (chewable)...I have to have between

1200 and 1500mg a day.

Sublingual B-12 that is no more than 500 ug. I don't even know what

ug is? The sites I visited didn't have ug as a measurement.

I've already decided on an unflavored protein powder, from

Bariatriceating.com, which is good...at least to start.

I bought the chewable multivitamins with iron, that the nutritionist

wanted me to, already, from Walgreen's. But they didn't seem to have

a large selection of vitamins, though. And the box I bought is

small, and it was the last one the shelf! I'm supposed to take two

or three of them per day. (I have conflicting paperwork, one from the

dietician says 2, and the doctors directions say 3), so I left a

message with the dietician to call me back and let me know.

I know that while I'm in the hospital, the protein that I will be

having is called Pro-Stat. I hear that it's nasty (according to my

sis in law who had the same surgeon, etc.). Does anyone have

experience with that type of protein beverage? Good or bad?

While looking on the Bariatriceating.com site, I thought I'd found my

calcium citrate solution in the form of a liquid, by a dropper. It

is very very concentrated and I believe as high as 1200 mg per

dropper. My only question, is that it has fructose in it. Isn't

fructose the same as regular sugar?

Vitamin B6 - 50 mg per day.....again conflicting directions.

Dieticians papers don't say it but the doc's does.

Vitamin E - 400 units 3x a day for one month, and after that,

whatever Vitamin E is in my multivitamins is fine from then on.

Creatine Monohydrate - 7500 mg in a powdered form 1-3 times daily or

what I can tolerate.

Glutamine - 1-5 grams mixed in yogurt, 2-4 times a day.

Fish oil/Flax Oil Tablets - 1-2 tablets 1-3 times a day, start slowly

and build up slowly. But how much should I take mg wise?????

Zinc/magnesium aspartate - 2 capsules, taken 30-60 min before bed on

an empty stomach. Another one without a mg measurement.

Is this nuts? Or does everyone take ALL these vitamins every day? I

would really like to hear some stories. Please share with me your

vitamin experiences, places to get good deals, and whatever you think

would help me out? I don't want to be in the poor house because I'm

wasting my money on vitamins costing top dollar. Not that I want to

be cheap, but I'm sure you all understand where I'm coming from.

Thanks for the feedback in advance!!!!!!!

Love and hugs,

Cathy
