Get the insert and read it.

I have the PDF for BayRho linked on my site, but you should always

check ANY insert for ANY injection you are considering.

I haven't followed this whole string (my apologies), but isn't the rhoGAM,

after you give birth, to protect only for subsequent pregnancies? If you KNOW

you are having no more kids, at least you don't have to get that one. A

thought. Make sure (Demand! Read package insert!) the 28 week on is

thimerosal free in any case.

Tyann-your message made me sad, but that's not that hard to do with all I've

also Rh negative, there's no worry at all anyway!

If you do decide to get the shot, make sure it does not have thimerosal as

an ingredient, and read all the ingredients just to remind you what exactly

is contained in vaccines! Also, you could ask pointed questions about

exactly why you might need the shot, and how many and why so many...Then let

I also have 3 year-old fraternal twin boys, who had the good fortune to come

My point to make to you is that it is possible to have undamaged children

after you learn a sad, hard lesson. And yes, I am convinced that our kids

were damaged by medical practices WE thought were best. Now I know

better...

Best of luck to you, may your heart guide your decisions, and may you be

Tyann, there are some " naturalists " on the breastfeeding board. I

have read this issue before, some might offer

alternatives/experiences for you. If you want, I can forward your

concern to the board and ask them to email you with responses, or

you are welcome to join. Here's the link:

breastfeeding/

one warning: it does sometimes get a little snitty. 600+ hormonal,

lactating, sleep-deprived women in one room... boys, be thankful you

aren't allowed to join! Lol.

Rhogam is given in the seventh month of pregnancy to prevent any problems if mom

and baby share blood for " some reason " . Premature birth, trauma, anything. Its

for protection of the baby to not be affected by this blood, which is a lot of

times incompatible with them. Mom will be Rh- and baby Rh+. This is so they do

not develop rhesus disease, which is a very debilitating syndrome with all sorts

of terrible complications.

Rhogam is also given after birth of the baby, within I believe 72 hours, when

testing on the child reveals that they are RH+. If they are Rh- (like mom), you

do not need to have the Rhogam again. If/when you might be pregnant again, the

process repeats.
