Costs of protein supplements - was Re: Happy Christmas .......TRAIN RIDE

When I started trying the different protein powders, I made up an

excel sheet so I could keep track of the cost and whether I liked them

or not.

I tried a lot of samples (18 different brands) and they range from 35

cents to 88 cents per per serving. Each serving is 20-26 g protein.

SciFit econo whey, Dymatize elite, Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey, and

Champion Pure Whey Stack work out to about 35 cents per serving (22-26

g protein) if you buy them in 5 pound containers. They come in a wide

variety of flavors.

GNC makes several different kinds that fall all through this range so

if you are going to buy GNC, look at all of them since the cost varies

so much.

Most of my prices are from www.bodybuilding.com because they were

typically cheaper than anyone else and had good shipping prices.

I haven't found any that were horrible except for pineapple. It is

pretty much disgusting no matter what brand it is. It tastes like

chemicals. I also doctor them up with the sugar free DaVinci syrups if

they don't taste as yummy as I'd like.
