Insurance/Approval Question

Good Morning! Its me, a friendly new lurker from Long Beach, CA!

My new insurace policy, Pacific Care of CA, becomes effective on

January 1st. This new policy will cover WLS, and I already have an

appointment on January 2 to meet with my doctor who is aleady super-

supportive of my decision and has my referral for surgery already

prepared.

I'm really excited to begin this journey.

My question is: Has anyone with this same insurer been RECENTLY

required to participate in a 6-month educational " coaching " call prior

to being approved for surgery? I already have 6 months of diet &

exercise documented. Was the 6-month class waived or reduced for any

reason?

I'm trying to get mentally prepared for what the approval process might

involve. Any input you can offer is greatly appreciated.
