Guest guest
the last 4 months I was on 200MCG levoxyl with a TSH of 4.71 from a 1.5 weeks ago and doctor up it to 212 MCG levoxyl. Two day ago I got another lab test which is the one I already posted yesterday T-4 free 1.5 (range .8 – 1.8 NG/DL) TSH 3.86 (0.40 -5.5 MIU/L) T-3free 307 (range 230-420 PG/DL) My TSH droped from 4.71 to 3.86 (current body temp now is 97.4 F) The doctor said take: reduce Levoxyl from 212MCG to 200MCG and add Cymotel T3 5MCG that is a total of 220MCG once I convert the cymotel to T4 equvilent curently stay per doctor (Option A) 200MCG T4 and 5MCG T3 (5x4 =20) total of 200+20 = 220MCG (97.5/2.5 ratio of T4/T3) My propsal is to self medicate since I feel that the doctor gave me very little T3. I would like to take: Option B: 175MCG T4 and 10MCG T3 (10x4 =40) total of 175+40 = 215MCG (94.3/5.7 ratio of T4/T3) Option C: 200MCG T4 and 10MCG T3 (10x4 =40) total of 200+40 = 240MCG I am leaning towards option B...but I am no expert. What do you think? or am I jumping on T3 to fast? or do you have another suggestions? (this is temp until I see another doctor whom can give me Armour)
