Re: Hypothyroidism's Effects on Mental

Health are Un...

this is true - I plan on increasing my thyroid meds one way or the other - and

it is very possible that could help my spasms and trigger points and my pain

level. I'd like to get off of the neurontin. Right now, I take it before bed -

which is the only way I can sleep. and I go to sleep with a heating pad with a

timer on it - on my neck and shoulders. I am addicted to my heating pad! But -

my knots are so bad, that I've been told that I need something to lessen them -

break them up - so they can go away. I've had them for years now, so I don't

expect them to go away overnight. but if this drug helped with them - stopped

the spasms, the knots could ease. And then with armour treatment, hopefully,

they wouldn't come back. And I could go off of both the neruontin and this new

one. No clue that my dr. would prescribe it for me anyway though.

am I making sense?

I have wondered about those memory foam toppers for the beds. Overstock.com has

had them on sale and I'd love to have one.

That's where we got ours, and we love it. We got the 2 inch, because we were

worried we wouldn't be able to get the sheets over the 3 inch. The ones at

overstock don't come with any kind of cover, like they generally do (I think) at

stores, so my wife got a matress pad cover that is too big, but works and keeps

it from getting dirty.

My only complaint with it is it can get warm. This is great in the winter, but

we are going to wait until after this summer to consider buying an actual memory

foam bed, after we see if it is too warm to stand in the summer. But oh boy is

it comfy, and it helps a lot with our morning aches.

I bought one a couple of months ago and I love it. Before I bought it, no

matter which way I turned I couldn't get comfortable. If I lay on my back it

hurt, if I lay on my side my hip hurt.

You need to make sure it's at least 2 inches deep, some places sell them 1 inch

or 1 and a half inches but I don't think those are deep enough

I started with the topper. It helped. Then I finally broke down and went to the

bed. Love it. Plus the mattress is very lightweight. Much easier to make up. We

have split king. I can actually flip the mattress. Many memory foam's don't need

that but I had mine made locally (got slightly softer than the Temperpedic

because that was more comfortable for me) and since we have the adjustable bed

as well, I thought it would be better to be able to turn it from time to time.

It took an army and a lot of sweat to flip my old king mattress. That sucker

must have weighed a ton plus it was hard to get fitted sheets with deep enough

pockets. Can you tell I like my new memory foam mattress?!?!

they are warm - they make both my hubby and I much warmer than we used to be He

complained at first. It just felt cozy to me, but when I would have a night

sweat, that made them warmer!

they are comfy though, and a decent alternative than the expensive mattress.

Costco sells them for queen and King if you are near one and know a member. That

is where I got mine.

ahhh - this reminds me - this is also a problem! our mattress isn't that old, so

it's a little thicker. with the memory foam pad, we have trouble findind sheets

deep enough. we need 18 inch deep pockets!

Either QVC or HSN has very Deep pocket sheets. I have a feathe bed topper and a

memory foam topper and I have plenty of " pocket " room left over. Also, I think

Overstock.com might have some.
