Guest guest
Hi all. I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been reading! I had my neurosurgeon visit today with a local surgeon. He said that decompression would probably help my headaches, but that my back pain is a separate problem. He said they do decompression - laminectomy of C1, duraplasty, and shrink the tonsils. But I thought it was bad to shrink the tonsils? Or am I confused? Well, I know I'm confused, but that's another issue! LOL! Also, he didn't think a full spine MRI was necessary because if I did have a syrinx, the decompression would " fix " that as well. I wasn't sure that this was accurate information.? I have an appointment in NY, but not until Feb. To be honest with you all, I am so tired of feeling this way, and really just want to get surgery over with and get back on my feet, so to speak. I'm tired of being sick all the time. If I wait to go to NY, I wouldn't be able to have surgery until next summer because of school. So, what do you think? Would you trust yourselves to a doctor that told you these things? Or should I wait? Oh, how I hate making decisions like this. Wishing all a pain-free day.
