I am new to your group and have been reading. About 2 weeks ago I was

approved by our insurance, Blue Cross, although we have to pay about

$4,500 out

of

pocket. Yesterday, scheduling called from Barix Clinic and my surgery

is

planned for Jan. 2, and the pre-op is planned for THE DAY AFTER

CHRISTMAS!

Ahhhh!

I'm a bit freaked out.

What should I expect at the pre-op appointment (they said it will

take 2-4

hours) ? And what did any of you take to the hospital as far as

nightgowns,

robe, etc? Is a nightgown better than two piece PJ's? And how long

did you all

stay in the hospital when the surgery was done? I am having the

gastric by

pass and hopefully it will be by lap. Of course, it may happen they

can't do

it lap for various reasons, but right now they think they can.

I have so many questions. I need to not 'lurk' and just read anymore.

I

thought the surgery date would take longer from the point of

approval. I am

shocked. LOL So, Please be patient with me concerning my many, many

questions.

I

hope this connects. I need quick answers!

What protein drink do you all suggest as the BEST tasting and also

with the

most protein content? Could any of you just share your surgery

stories with

me and any complications I should possibly look for, and be alert to?

How long

will it take at home to feel up to par again and start exercising?

Intoxicated with Jesus,

Val Norton
