bio identical hormones & soy

Hi all,

I'm on what is called Bio identical hormones with the estrogen derived soy

plant. I found this after trying all the synthetic estrogens and this really

works for me.. question is.. will it interfer with the Armour or is it not

something I should be concerned with?

Also, I drink a small amount of organic soy milk in my coffe or green tea..

should I be stopping that?

I am on Bioidentical Hormones too, and loving it!! It will not

interfere with Armour, that I know of, but soy will interfere with Armour.

ALL Estrogens interfere with thyroid hormones. Yet we need some. I still have to

take some Estrogen but very small amounts and I do have to increase my thyroid

meds because of it.

I knew that, what was I thinking!! Must be from lowering my Armour! LOL OK,

I'm keeping my mouth shut and let the ones that know more then me answer! LOL

Dr. Sprecher told me yesterday that my family Dr. should not have lowered my

Armour until he got all the test results back on my Thyroid. I told her that

most Dr's like to go only by TSH and she replied how well she knows this! So,

she may ask for my Armour to be increased. I am to call her on Monday.

Hey, I met with Jeanne today. Had a very nice visit. She has a beautiful home

in the country! Love her dogs! We 3 will have to get together when you come to

sburg. NICE meeting you today, Jeanne!!! :-))

ALL Estrogens interfere with thyroid hormones. Yet we need some. I still have

to take some Estrogen but very small amounts and I do have to increase my

So what exactly are you taking? I'm not sure what makes a bioidentical hormone.

I first learned about BHRT from Suzanne Somers' Book, The Sexy Years. I am so

glad that I bought book!!!

BHRT is natural estrogen, usually estradiol is given, and natural progesterone.

You must have a prescription and get this at a compounding pharmacy. I had to

find a Dr 3 hours from me that knows about this. Dr's around here don't or

won't prescribe this. Most want to push the synthetic HRT on you, like my

family Dr.

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for the information on the books you mentioned re: bio Identical

hormones... my compounding pharmacy uses Triest.. which is all three of the

estrogens the body produces... called Triest.
