Guest guest
I've posted previously how the cold actually causes my muscles on right side (affected side) to spasm & how I dread cold weather, extreme air conditioning, etc. Surgery site becomes extremely sore & painful which in turn, causes me to tense my neck & shoulder muscles- not a good response. At this point, it's a vicious cycle. Since I've always hated the cold, tending towards Reynaud's Syndrome, it could well be ACM exacerbates the problem. It may depend upon your own pre-existing preference or comfort level regarding temperature. If you hated the onset of summer before the surgery, after surgery it may be completely unbearable. The cold stiffens my muscles up, makes walking more difficult & the limp in my right leg will reappear as it did pre-surgery. Even at age 40, I was the " athlete " of the family: sea kayaking; roller blading; etc. It's a big change for me, there is no way I can do any of these things at age 48 (11/16/54) without warm weather! By the way, arthritis doesn't appear in my family until close to 70 yrs. of age. janet
