Guest guest
Hi , This is what my surgeon told me. People can have gallstones and never even know it, and it is easier to remove it " while there in there " than after surgery and have to go through another surgery to recover from. Word has it that gallstones are a painful thing, and I certainly don't mind my doc taking it out. Hugs, Cathy butterfly in training > > Just be glad they want to take the GB out. I had to have mine taken out last August in an emergency surgery... gall bladder attacks = no fun. I also hear that after RNY surgery people have gallbladder problems so they just take care of it in all one shot. The only two differences I noticed without it was... first of course, no more pain in the middle of the night and two, I pee more often. Don't know if it's related though. > > >
Guest guest
My doctor leaves it in to. You should be on medication to prevent the gallstones from building. That is usually the first 6 months after surgery, when you loose most of your weight. Guest guest
I am 1 year out and haven't had any problems with my gallbladder. My surgeon just ordered another ultrasound. I wish it was my gallbladder giving me all this pain because that would be an easy fix! ~ > > W, I haven't had any problems with mine, but I am only over three > almost four months out >
