Hi ,

This is what my surgeon told me. People can have gallstones and

never even know it, and it is easier to remove it " while there in

there " than after surgery and have to go through another surgery to

recover from. Word has it that gallstones are a painful thing, and I

certainly don't mind my doc taking it out.

problems so they just take care of it in all one shot. The only two

differences I noticed without it was... first of course, no more pain

My doctor leaves it in to. You should be on medication to prevent

the gallstones from building. That is usually the first 6 months

after surgery, when you loose most of your weight.

W, I haven't had any problems with mine, but I am only over three

almost four months out

I am 1 year out and haven't had any problems with my gallbladder. My

surgeon just ordered another ultrasound. I wish it was my gallbladder

giving me all this pain because that would be an easy fix! ~
