Hi ,

I have very little to offer. I was approved the first time. But, I did need

to see one of " their " doctors, and he was a psychiatrist. I think I lucked

out because my neurologist was so adamant about me not working, and he keeps

very good records. I think this translated into a forceful submission of

info from him to the SSI folks. I had a part time job, and was able to keep

that too. So, I have been very lucky and blessed.

I do not recall the visit to the doctor, that is, it doesn't stick out as a

big deal. I think I remember getting teary eyed, but that too is no new

thing! But then, like every one else, I had so many wacko's telling me it

was all me! lol

Hope this helps. Good luck and be calm.

Peace

Hi

We live in Polk County, Florida and we have try to apply twice for SSI for my

son Braulio 15 months both time he did not qualify, it's ridiculous the way they

want someone to qualify, we own a house, we pay bills like everybody else like

insurance, house expenses, food, gas, doctors co-pays etc. We have to travel a

lot to take Braulio to see Doctors we have tons of medical bills and SSI don't

undestand what we have to trough besides that he does not even have Medicaid for

the reason he has Insurance and we are making too much money according to them,

I ask myself 55 grant a year its a lot for a family of 4 and a dog? I don't

think so, but SSI only help people who could only live with 8 grant a year per

person, in our case not more than 32 grant a year, How we are going to survive

with 32 grant a year? ridiculous right

We have being dealing with his problem since august last year, we still hanging

in there sometimes the system it's wrong and you have to learn how to deal with

it with or without help.

How much help would you get if you quit your job? my wife was thinking to do

that also

good luck

Anyone know the benefits out there that Trinity could be missing out on with

regards to social security benefits? I'm asking because I want to be sure that

she is in the system where she needs to be. I know that in the state of Florida

if I have to quit my job due to Trinity's health problems I am eligible for

benefits although very little. We are getting ready to move in the next 5-7

months back to Oregon or Washington so I'm really curious if anyone knows the SS

system out there. But I also welcome any other responses. If she is eligible

for something I want to get it for her.

Thanks,

Hello, ,

I know that there is program. I am not sure if it is through SS, but you

could apply to get Medical. You do not need to be a low income family to apply

for it it is the waiver program. If you are a Regional center client, they

could advise you in what forms and things you need to do to apply for it.

Unfortunately, I am not well verse in the subject, but ask your counselor at

Regional Center.
