Guest guest
Well Done Congratulations Missy !!!! good news! This is just so exciting for me...I'll just jump right in here. On Saturday, I recieved a letter in the mail from Poetry.com. I had sent a piece to them a few months ago and it has been accepted for publication in an anthology they have coming out! Terrific, yes?! But that's not all. It has also been chosen as 1 of 33 to be recorded onto a compilation CD. I have been on cloud 9 since the weekend. lol I'm gonna include the poem in this mail and keep in mind, this was written my senior year in high school. I was 17. -Missy Birds Fam'ly doth protect from the piercing cold. They shelter you from weather none too gay. But when you spread your wings and turn quite bold, they do not let you out to have your day. They fear for safety and for healthy kin. They protect you like mother birds beneathe wings. When you stop and look at the state you're in, you'll find you have to get away from things. Take off! Fly free! Wait for none to follow. Be independant as the hunting hawk. Do not sit and wait and sit and wallow. Please, do not follow the rest of the flock. For if you do not take off now and go, your close family will turn into your foe. Guest guest
Well everyone, good news today! Daughter and her b/f landed an apartment of their own yesterday. Signing lease today. She's come a long way and just wanted all of you here to know that there is hope and to keep on trucking. It does get better. It was just a year ago that she " snapped " out of it and has been doing well since. Together they managed to conjur up $1300 and hubby and I gave her the rest to close the deal. She's so excited, she's got it all decorated in her head and can't wait to start packing. It's kind of bittersweet, I'm happy for her but sad that she's going. Just wanted to share. All have a great day! DebbieL

Already she's asking, one item in particular, her bedroom at home is all leopard. I had picked up this soft plastic leopard toilet seat one time. It had been hanging on her wall. Now they are doing the bath in a different motif, at my suggestion, in all poker cards as her b/f is a poker buff. So the toilet seat is a no go in the bath. I suggested getting a nice waste basket for the bedroom, possibly leopard print, or just a nice brown or better yet, black, and glue the toilet seat to the top to act as a lid to the waste basket. She just paused, and said, I love you, you come up with the neatest ideas! Hope it works! DebbieL

Guest guest
Congratulations cybersis! That is so totally incredible. It's hard to believe that five years ago you were in such a state of despair and anguish and today, you're baby is growing up and moving into her future. Valleys and mountains ahead, as there are for everyone but kudos to you . . . and to her! Wow! Congrats again. Kelley funnygirl1154@... wrote: Well everyone, good news today! He told his father he was going to give our daughter $500 to help get the apt. Well, the apt. is acquired, she called him and told him, he said that's nice and would talk to her later. She's not holding her breathe. Funny, now she's the one saying " If I don't expect anything, I won't be disappointed " ! That was once my mantra with her.
