Guest guest Posted August 9, 2004 Report Share Posted August 9, 2004 Folks, Our son, 8 yrs entering 2nd grade this Sept., has been doing very well on 54 mg of Concerta daily since last fall. We have a 2 weeks stretch ahead w/o school, tutoring, or interventions of any type so I was thinking about giving his body a rest. He also takes 2 1/2 mg Melatonin, 250 mg Tryptophan, and 100 mg 5HTP to help induce sleep. These would also go by the wayside for 2 weeks. He would remain on the rest of his numerous supplements. My question: Do any of you have experience w/ taking a break like this from this particular drug? We would titrate the dose in two weeks when we reintroduce it. Many, many thanks, Jill G. Guest guest Posted August 28, 2004 Report Share Posted August 28, 2004 My son is on 36 mg of concerta. When I go on vacation, I take him off of his meds.
