Glad you are ok Cathy! I took a nasty spill right before my surgery. I

went to get something out of the garage. Our garage is detached from

the house. I put my crocs on & ran out in the rain. My foot hit the

garage floor & boom there it went! I went down hard on one knee. I

cried. LOL! I was thinking...oh great this is all I need. It was like

the night before I was to leave to go to Mexico.

Cathy, I am glad you are ok. This will all disappear with the weight loss. I had

to pay $80 for my nutritionist too. I also had tp pay for my psych eval. too. I

am wishing you all the best in your health.

Hi all,

First of all, I may have neglected to tell you that I have been

seeing a pain management doctor for 6 years. I have fibromyalgia,

and herniated discs in my neck and back and I have spinal stenosis,

and I have 9 diagnoses from this doctor in all!

I am in pain of some sort, most of the time. I can't stand for more

than 5-10 minutes, and can't go into stores and walk around at all.

I do my best to make sure I don't do things that will cause me

horrible pain. My life is pretty isolated and I'm sure some of you

will be understanding what I'm talking about.

Today, I had my pulmonary clearance appointment. When my dad and I

got there (I am still not cleared to drive), I got out of the truck

and was walking towards the building.

I opened the first glass door, and there's a space between it and the

next door to the offices. They have a slate floor (I found out), and

somehow I FELL! On my knees, and right hand! Damn, did it HURT! I

did my best to get up and work through the pain in my knees and go

through the other glass door and down a couple of long hallways to my

doctor's office.

I walked in there, wincing all the way, and did my best to hide it.

Thankfully, the doctor saw me for all of 5-10 minutes, and I was able

to leave. I didn't tell my father because he would have gotten

upset. I was wondering the whole way home, how bad were my knees

scraped up? Were they bleeding or anything?

I got home and left my dad, and came inside my apartment. I

immediately pulled my pants down to look at my knees. The left one

was hit the hardest and is swollen, and I'm sure the right one is

swollen a bit also.

Another reason I didn't tell my dad is that he would tell my mother,

and she has this " thing " about me falling down. She saw her mother

fall once (and she was very overweight) and it made her cry. I know

she would cry over this, because the other day, I told her I was in

pain and she started crying, saying " I wish I could take the pain for

you.... "

I took some Advil to help with the swelling/pain. I'm not sure if

it's working or not.

Oh, god.....what next, you know? That quote that says " the bigger

they are the harder they fall " ? Well, that was me, 308 lbs falling

down onto a slate floor!

I have my nutritionist appointment tomorrow which I have to pay for

out of pocket: $110! If I were diabetic, my insurance would cover

it, but I'm not diabetic. She also said to me that most insurances

don't cover the hour long visit, anyway.
