Hello fine people - I know this is not Chiari but I thought some of you

w/all of your knowledge

could help me understand my ultrasound of my goiter. If not, thanks anyway.

If so great!!

This is the results:

1.Real-time sonograpic evaluation of the thyroid gland was compared wit the

previous exam of 12/06/99,

demonstrating the right lobe to measure 5.2 x 2.5 x 3.1 cm, containing a 4.0

x 2.0 x 2.4 cm heterogeneously

hypoechoic nodule with its epicenter at the midpole, increased in size from

the previous exam when it measured

3.1 cm in greatest diameter.

2. The left lobe measures 4.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm, containing a 1.2 x 0.6 x 0.9

cm hypoechoic nodule within the mid to upper pole, new since the

previous exam. Two hypoechoic nodules within the upper pole measuring 0.3

cm in greatest diameter each

are noted. There is a hypoechoic nodule within the midpole measuring 0.6 cm

in greatest diameter. A hypoechoic nodule within

the lower pole measures 0.7 cm in greatest diameter.

CONCLUSION: 1. Bilateral thyroid nodules as detailed above, the largest of

which is located within the midpole of the right lobe

measuring 4.0 x 2.0 x 2.4 cm, increased in size since the previous exam.

Biopsy of this lesion may be performed to

exclude the possibility of neoplasm.

When I had the test performed back in 99 - it was don't worry about now they

are talking doing a biopsy? why?

Have a great day....

Rita
