Guest guest
What a wonderful week you had. Now your body wants to show the new weight off before it goes down to another size. Give it some time. You have more willpower then I do. I need a big push. Come live with me and get me going. Keep up the good work! Judy Bad Day Yall........ Two weeks ago I started back on a very strict program of very high protein intake....2-3 shakes a day and VERY little carbs! The first week I lost six pounds and broke down into the 240's. I was so freakin happy that I decided to keep it going and push on with this... Today was the end of my second week doing this. I woke up all pumped up to weigh in (I had waited all week, also very hard for me) and got on the scale to see just how far I had dropped into the 240's with another week of hard work...... I LOST NOTHING AT ALL THIS WEEK!! I was sooooo good all week, eating all the right things, drinking my shakes, getting my walks......WHAT THE HELL??????? I almost through my scale out in the dam street, but Im to cheap to go buy another good one........AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Mike T
Guest guest
Mike, That is so frustrating, you have done so awesome so far. I wish that I could tell you that tomorrow you will be down, but we all know how finicky that darn scale is. Don't you wish that we had a scale that would just tell us that we are doing good. Because Mike you have done AWESOME, STELLAR. Please do not let this get you down. I for one am encouraged by how well you are doing. Guest guest
Mike, I can't see how you don't get hungry if you're having that many shakes. I would think this was very hard to stick to too. Why not do something with more solid food and less shakes? If you're exercising too, which I think you've said you are, then you might have gained some muscle mass. Losing six pounds the week before might mean you've hit a plateau. I remember from about the second week of October to the end of November I think I probably lost a total of 5-10lbs. Then from the Friday after Thanksgiving to the next Friday I lost 11lbs. You've been at this for months, off and on, are you finding that these very hard for you diet(s) are giving you control over the amount and speed of weight loss? Ok now the last sentence says you're eating all the right stuff, drinking, shakes, exercise that's all good. Don't beat yourself up over not losing for one week. The time will come where you'll need to do some of this, hopefully not to where you consider it very hard, just to MAINTAIN your weight. Consider that and embrace not losing for one week as being as successful as losing six pounds. I don't own a scale but if I did I'd be too cheap to throw it out too. I would, however, stick it under the bed or something for a month maybe. As it is I have a scale at work (strange I know) which is very easy to access. I have to resist the temptation to check it more than once a week. Most of the time I've lost a pound or two but I'm not sure if that's very much considering you've lost six and an average of three a week over the two weeks. We're different months out, had different starting weights and are at different weights now too though so it's probably all different for the both of us. In fact, come to think of it, it's got to be different for everyone compared to everyone else. Relax but not by sitting down. Maybe go out for another walk. I know I would if I could keep from slipping on the damned ice. It's going to be 50s tomorrow WEEE. 240s has to be pretty nice too though. I'm still in the 270s. I'm hoping to be in the 240s this summer though. Guest guest
MIKE THAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I hope you're not going to let the scale change the way you feel about how well you did this week. You have something to be proud of even if the number didn't move the way you wanted it to move. Stay positive and remember how it feels to do well, for you and not for the scale. Guest guest
Thanks Judy.......I was major into the Atkins diet years ago......So I really felt like if I stayed on the protein that on top of having the surgery, the weight would just fly off.......Im going to try and look at this like Mike said, try to think of it as three pounds this week and three pounds last week and go from there......I think I would have been happy if it had shaken out like that so........ Guest guest
Get ready to say these same words to me, cause I bet I plateau every 20-25 pounds. What use to work in my younger days was decreasing calories and increasing workout, within 3 days I'd be ok, I don't know now with this what will happen. Guest guest
Mike T, just keep going. Your body will release the fat soon, but it is probably just stalling for now. Are you weight lifting? Adding in the weight lifting will probably kick start the pounds. lisamathis > Two weeks ago I started back on a very strict program of very high > protein intake....2-3 shakes a day and VERY little carbs!
