Guest guest
Not good. :-( He aggravated the nurses wanting to get up and go to the toilet. He didn't want to use the bed pan or the bedside potty. He kept on till they gave in and put him on the toilet. They told him to pull the call cord when he was done and they'd come get him. His stubborn ass tried to get up and took a nose dive into the tile floor and busted his head open. So, off to the hospital to be checked out. Didn't need stitches; but they did a CT scan to make sure there was no concussion or anything. Well, they found evidence of a stroke. Not sure if it's recent or old. They couldn't tell. So, they took him back to the nursing home. He's been really combative and agitated since then. He's stopped eating. Won't drink anything. He's getting fluids by IV; but if he continues not eating it won't be long... He's told the nurses he's seen his angels waiting for him. I really think it's just a matter of time. :-( I want to go see him this weekend but there is a virus going thru the nursing home and I don't want to get sick. I can't afford to miss work. So, I'm hoping when I get laid off next week for the holidays I can go down when I drop Kelsey off to her dad's. I really appreciate you asking about him. It means a lot. Thank you. Guest guest
I'm feelin kinda guilty cause I haven't gone to see him. I just don't know if I can see him that way. He looked bad enough in the hospital and Mabel (a family friend who visits him daily) says he looks worse now. :-( I just don't want to remember him that way. He's not coherent to know who is there when people visit. Guest guest
Thank you Sherry. I appreciate it. He's not in pain I don't think because they do have him on pain meds. They are just keeping him comfortable for the time he has left. W 380/259/160 sherrya_neal wrote: > , > I'm so sorry to hear your dads not doing well. Strokes are a cruel.
