Guest guest
I ate no baby food. I ate yogurts, cream cheese, cottage cheese and flavored them with spices and taco/chili flavoring packets. I agree baby food sounds nasty. I was eating tuna on my own at about 3-4 weeks and chicken a week or so later. VERY SLOWLY AND CHEWING A LOT. Guest guest
Baby food...phewy. I would make my own soups and puree them. They were tasty and were full of good things that my body needed. It helped me along. Guest guest
Sarrah, I haven't actually tried any but I asked the nutritionist about them. She said a lot of people like the convenience, but they are very bland (no salt, etc.). I thought the protein content was too low to be worth it. A lot of people say to puree your own foods and then freeze it in ice trays for future use. in MI > > Hi Everyone! > > I've been the ardent student here, trying to soak up as much info as > possible, but I have something to say about baby food. > > (I have no children, and don't plan on it either....) > > Anyway, > > I was talking to my mother about having to have either actual baby > food or something with the consistency of baby food. > > She made a face! Guest guest
That was probably me that emailed about pureed turkey : ) Actually, when its cold, I think it will be fine on a cracker. I don't have any crackers, but I'm going to look for something very thin and nourishing. I've thought about baby food too...but it is pretty gross. Guest guest
I bought some cottage cheese to try since I've never had it. I thought trying it after surgery might not be so smart. My conclusion is that there isn't ANYTHING you can add to it to keep it from being nasty. The texture was soooo gross! I know there are different types (large and small curd) and I have no idea which one I bought but I don't think I'll be trying that again. I did strain a can of beef pot roast chunky soup and pureed the solids. I tried it but I couldn't tell you if it was good or not. It was definitely different. I will try it again when the time comes. in MI > > > > Hi Everyone! > > > > I've been the ardent student here, trying to soak up as much info > as > > possible, but I have something to say about baby food. > > > > (I have no children, and don't plan on it either....) > > > > Anyway, > > > > I was talking to my mother about having to have either actual baby > > food or something with the consistency of baby food. > > > > She made a face! Guest guest
If you will add a little apple sauce or sugar free jams or pureed pears or apricots with the cottage cheese it will taste better. Guest guest
WHAT? Cottage cheese, texture and all, ROCKS!! It's been my experience that Large curd (or crud as I call it) only comes in full fat not lite or non fat. While I do love large curds I don't buy it because of the fat. I buy only non fat cottage cheese. I buy it 2-3 tubs at a time on sale and will eat a tub every 4 days or so. It's a great snack! Try some peaches or pineapple in your cottage cheese. It's like a damned dessert! Please give cottage cheese another chance. Make sure it's really cold too it is a lot better very cold. Maybe try some cream cheese. I used to make cream cheese sandwiches as a kid, just cream cheese that's all, fantastic. Fat Free cream cheese is awesome stuff. I can eat it right out of the spoon. Yum. Guest guest
I have always found that the small curd cottage cheese tends to be tighter and not as watery. I have always liked the taste and it really makes a great snack or even a great breakfast. I either like pineapple in mine or just a little black pepper in it. Lin Lhsh@... Guest guest
Cathy, I ate baby food after surgery, and I loved it! I had the organic kind that doesn't have any added ingrediants. I mixed beneprotien into sweet potatoes, carrotts, peas, etc... I didn't do the baby meat, but he fruits and veggies were perfect.
