Guest guest
Hi everyone again, I am hunnybear because of winnie the pooh.. You know whats funny.. The way some are talking about food you " can't " have anymore. It is almost sounding like the food wins. I have a strong mindset about the food I eat or don't eat anymore. I cut out cafeine from diet coke and chocolate... I do not have either one. The only thing that was tough for me was frapachino's from starbucks. When I saw the dietician a few weeks back, she said no more but it was because I am trying to loose weight or maintain before my surgery. The only things I drink now are cafeine free... iced tea, water (flavored with crystal light) and regular water of course. I thought I would miss the diet coke but I don't. While cutting things out like fried foods and junk food I kept a picture of my kids and my grandson in my mind. I knew if I didn't do something to stay alive I wouldn't be in 10 years... and it isn't going to be me that suffers from that. I have two kids that haven't gotten married yet and I want to be there for them when they do. I want to watch them have kids and be a grandma more than once. I know if I continued eating and with my health issues, I wouldn't be around for that. I also know that food isn't going to win out this time. Surgery and having the ruex n y is dangerous enough to have now but I am not going to think about that. Staying the way I am is more dangerous to me. Like you guys have said and I believe it ... the by pass is just a tool. We have to take control of what we eat, how much we eat and why we eat it. It is mind over mater. It is up to you what matters most to you.. food .... or your family. Guess I talk too much.. ) Hunnybear Negative thinking is mental malpractice. Guest guest
Congrats! Six days and counting for me.... Oh Happy Day! Hi Everyone, I have been reading your posts for the last few weeks, trying to learn more before " my day " . I live in Louisville, KY. I had a wonderful Christmas present.. I was able to get my surgery date. My Big Day is January 26, 2007. I am excited about it.. not really nurvous yet. Especially since I still have to see the Cardiologist for an Echo, Pulminary and another doctor to schedule having my filter placement in my vina cava. My doctor, Dr. Shina is a firm believer in having a filter put in to avoid blood clots going where they shouldn't be. All this happens in a month which will keep me busy as well as my job. I just transfered to a new position and I am in training for that too. My last day of training is on the day I am suppose to go to the hospital for my pre-op so it will be a busy day to say the least. I really do not have any questions to ask. I have been absorbing the information you guys have been writing. I basically wanted to introduce myself and say " HI " to everyone. I have seen the actual surgery online and it isn't bad. I watched both types of sugery, the roux n y and the lap band and really considered both long and hard. I decided the roux n y was the best for me because of my health situation. I use a c-pap for my sleep apnea, have borderline high blood pressure (it fluxuates high then normal but am on medicine just the same), I suffer with migraine headaches, etc.. just like everyone else has had before they had their great day and started the downward path of loosing weight. Sorry I got long winded.. will end now. Soon, I will be with the looser club. Happy New Year! :-) All the best, hunnybear aka 1/26/07 310/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
