liquids....

My surgery will be in Mexico and he will make me stay 6 days counting

the day of my surgery and day of my departure.

I'm glad though because I have to fly from San Diego to Mobile, then

ride home from Mobile to past Milton FL.

Lin, it sounds amazing it was only 6 days - wow! You sure had a time

of it.

, is that pretty typical? So if I have surgery on a Monday

morning, assuming I don't have any complications, I should be out on

Wednesday?

I'd guess they are extra cautious if you're having the surgery so far

from home. They probably want to make VERY certain that you're

recovered to a certain point before cutting you loose. Thanks for the

info.

-How far from your home are you going for your surgery? That may make

a difference. Have they told you how many days you will bein the

hospital. Can you drive to your home and hospital.

I'm staying 5 days, so I am glad since I'll be along way from home,

and can get some healing in before the jorney back.

My cousin was 2 hours from where she had her surgery, she stayed 2

days in the hsopital and sat up in the car all the way home without

any discomfort.

My doctor's assistant has advised me to bring an extra pillow just to

have in the room and to have on my journey back for clutching against

my stomach if I sneeze or whatever.

Hi, ! The hospital is about 20 miles away. I can see where if you

lived a long drive away they would want you to stay longer. I have

been trying to call the office to find out so that we can secure

flights for DH, but they've been closed yesterday and today, and most

likely, until Tuesday. I'd love to be able to go ahead, because I

found a reasonable fare. However, no way without knowing.

Thanks for your info. It was very helpful.

Shauna, did that two days include the day of surgery? Or do you mean

two days after surgery? Two nights or one? Thank you.

Cat, I think that it is pretty typical assuming you don't have any

complications. I think if you go in on Monday that Wednesday is

possible. When are you having the surgery? Are you having Lap or

Open? lisamathis

Hi Cat, I had surgery on a Friday. I was the first patient of the day

and that is great because you don't have to think all day long about

the surgery and being hungry! Anyway and I came home on Sunday

afternoon. Good Luck! in CA

Thanks, and . That's why I opted to wait an extra week, just

so that I could be the first of the day. I can just picture myself,

sitting around waiting for the surgery, saying to myself, " What have I

gotten myself into? " then vaulting over the gurney and streaking out

of the hospital. Not good, LOL!
