A few days later a patient (I work in the ER) Came in with large patched of hair missing and said it was due to the depo shot. After hearing this I decided to do some research. This is what I found the side effects to be: Change in menstruation (may be lighter or heavier; shorter or longer) Increase in spotting and breakthrough bleeding Weight gain Dizziness Nervousness Change in libido Headaches Rash or skin discoloration Breast tenderness Depression Increase or decrease in facial and body hair Hair loss There is also a lawsuit against the company due to loss of calcium.
