Remember when there were some posts about Chiari Budd - the liver

ailment? The staff at the hospital I was in were so unfamiliar with

Arnold Chiari Malformation - except my surgeon - The name on my room

was BUDD - my last name. So, the staff would glance at my file and

see Chiari - look at my name - and look at me with a huge Q-Tip

looking bandage on my head and ask me - You have Chiari Budd?

They said they see that all the time.

So, even in ICU, I was able to educate all of the staff about Chiari -

even though I could barely speak because I couldn't swallow. Not a

one of them had actually seen one before - most had heard of it.

Wild, huh?
