Guest guest
There will be three presentations as well as 2, two-hour workshops on HBOT and autism at the Alternatives for Special Kids Conference. Information can be found at the link below. Darien C. Small Alternatives for Special Kids <http://www.4healthykids.org/> www.4healthykids.org <mailto:darien@...> darien@... " Resources for the healing, health, and happiness of children with special needs and their families. " [ ] HBOT for autism I'm new to the list and would like to hear from parents who are using HBOT to treat their children with autism. What results are you seeing? Was it worth the money? How many treatments were required? Were the results lasting? Sorry if this has been discussed at length. Please feel free to email me personally. Thanks,
Guest guest
, Between Dr. Harch and the HBOT Clinic of Santa they have treated 36 autistic children. Of those, 35 showed good improvements. Because autism demonstrates less injury to the brain, it provides a better opportunity for improvement as compared to someone like my daughter . You can view the SPECT scans and at a review of an autistic patients by going to www.HyperbaricOxygen.info click on Medical News and pull up Congressional Testimony.pdf goto page 17/18 Here is a review that was put together by one mother who recently had her child treated with HBOT. Please note one of the key issues is to relieve the child of the toxin before HBOT, otherwise it could remain in the system and continue to injure the neurons that are improved by the HBOT. Let me know if this helps. C.H. Male, 4 ½ yrs old Diagnosed w/ classic autism, mod to severe, on Feb 13, 2001, at 2 ½yrs old Birth weight 11 lbs 9 oz Normal birth and development throughout first year of life Followed by regression beginning around 18 mos - lost previously acquired language (10-12 wds) - lost all eye contact - lost desire for social interaction w/ family and friends - began odd and repetitive behaviors (hand flapping, spinning, etc…) Attended DAN Conf in Atlanta where I learned about biological treatments for autism Moved to California to get better services Began series of biological interventions - gluten free and casein free diet (significant changes fog lifted) - supplements (B6, Magnesium, DMG, Cod Liver Oil, etc…) changes very slight - NAET allergy elimination treatments saw no changes - Chelation therapy pulling out mercury each time but he couldn’t tolerate the medication - IV secretin saw no real changes - IVIG still doing once every 4-6 weeks I have highlighted the interventions that I believe may have laid a good foundation for Christian to be able to respond that much better to HBOT - Hyperbaric Oxygen significant changes After first week of HBOT, Mark and I noticed significant improvement in sustained eye contact *During first week, Christian had his first normal bowel movement ( they have continued to be more normal than they ever have been-this is very significant I have been trying to fix his gut issues for 1 ½ yrs) *After second week, rec. comments from each of his in home therapists about his mental clarity, alertness, and/or ability to focus while on task The supervisor who runs Christian’s program was so amazed she commented that “maybe we should all go up to Santa for some oxygen”! *Scores in his programs have increased across the board. He has received check pluses ( and even some check double pluses!) for the majority of his sessions since starting HBOT, whereas before it was very inconsistent. The therapists continue to comment on how interactive he is. *He has recently, as of mid Dec, started to sight read and is already up to 20 words. * Also worth noting is that even w/o any ABA hours authorized during the holidays, there was no regression in any of his current programs. Guest guest
Dear , Not only did HBOT work for my own child, who was considered mildly autistic in 1994, but there are testimonials on my site, I urge you to investigate this form of therapy for your child. Please read the studies and see the testimonials. http://www.hbot4u.com/testimonials.html And http://www.hbot4u.com/autismlisting.html Sincerely and CHT, EMT, DMT www.hbot4u.com

Guest guest
Because of the success of HBOT for Autism as well as the need for newcomers to find out more about hbot a new group has been formed. It is not meant to replace any group, but rather to supplement this group as well as others by providing a place to learn and share experiences with using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Autism. Many are reporting excellent results using this treatment. To join you can send a blank email to HBOTherapyforAutism-subscribe or you can go to HBOTherapyforAutism/ Please pass this info to others.
