H., I can't eat hamburger meat. I think the protien strands in

deer meat are too long and tightly bunched together to chew up

completely, and the digestive system has a hard time breaking down the

protien. I don't know if you will ever be able to eat it.

Pork would kill me at first. Now it doesnt bother me too bad. I just

have to make sure I use very lean meat. If it's fatty it makes me

sick. Beef (steak & roast) is probably the easiest for me by far. I do

ok w/ hamburger in like spaghetti, chili or tacos. But, I can't eat a

hamburger. Too greasy. Chicken is ok so long as it's not dry.

I have heard of people having problems with steak, the meat I have had

problems on with occasionally has been either turkey or chicken. Hamburger

and steak are really good and the problems I have had at night have been

related to my ulcer more than anything, but I think we have finally gotten

the handle on that one.

Meats question

Do any of you have trouble eating certain meats?

I have had an awful time with hamburger, and even beef roast. I have

also had a very hard time with deer meat. The last two times I have

eaten deer meat (which I LOVE, and it is VERY GOOD for you) I just

about died with pain and suffering and getting sick.

Saturday my husband got his first day in hunting. He wasn't gone long

until I heard the gun go off, and then only a little while here he

came dragging the deer out of the woods. He is now insisting me TRY

eating it again, saying he prepared it a different way this

time........NOT really. I ate it twice prepared by two different

people and two different ways and I got VERY sick over it.

I'm almost sick thinking about trying to eat it, but my husband is

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO presistant and will NOT shut up until I

get sick I guess. I asked him if he was hoping I got sick and die.....LOL

I was just wondering if others have problems with meat and what they

do about it?

H.

I have to be careful about anything too fatty, but eating a hamburger is no

problem and I have had a couple since my surgery. The one thing I did not

know if I could eat was a hot dog, and they seem to go down just fine as

long as they are the all beef ones.

When you say that meat " makes you sick " do you mean vomiting, queasy

or that it gives you the runs?

--Cat

P.S. , good for you - I've been watching your second number go

down. You'll probably hit your " Only 100 pounds to go " mark very

soon!! HOO-ah!

It makes me vomit. I get a feeling like it's stuck and my chest hurts.

As soon as I throw up I feel fine.

I hope I hit the only 100 to go soon! :-)

Yep, the meat does me the same way, feels like it's stuck in my chest

and I am going to die, and after I throw up I feel much better (most

of the time).

Hi all, The question about deer meat. I am 14 months out and I can

eat the deer meat and have been for awhile. I just make sure it is

very tender by cooking it very slowly in a crock pot with tomato or

simmer for several hours adding a little water as needed. I don't

season it with anything when I simmer, it makes it's own brown

seasoning with the onions chunks I add.
