Guest guest
I think that's a great secret wish. I think we all have secret wishes. When I get thinner and more confident I want to take a dance class, and learn to ride a horse. I have always wanted to do those things, but have been afraid people would laugh at me. Guest guest
Hi , You just reminded me of something I thought of the other day.... I would LOVE to learn how to dance! The REAL way with two people, and actual steps....I think it would be great!!!!!!! Now, if my hubby actually had rhythm, (which he doesn't, but god knows he has tried over the years at weddings and other functions) that would be really fun to do together! Can I share this wish too? It is on my list of things I want to do, when I am able. Hugs, Cathy Merry Christmas > > I think that's a great secret wish. I think we all have secret wishes. Guest guest
Dear , You are so sweet! You really made my night! Thank you. There is a quote from one of my favorite movies, The Shawshank Redemption.....and I think it can pertain to all of us. " Either get busy living, or get busy dying. " I plan to live a long life. I always had a fear that I would die a young death. Not many people know that about me, but now I'm convinced that my life will turn around and I will have a longer life than I ever imagined I might. I also plan to become a butterfly....... Hugs, , Love, Cathy Merry Christmas > > > > > > > > > > I still have the boobs!! I STILL wear a large and sometimes > > an > > > > > X large in my tops!! Guest guest
Well let's see. My ex-wife is becoming particularly militant about me not seeing the kids at all during the holidays they spend with her because I've been dating lately. She even accused me of purposely taking the kids out of town on vacations or to visit my brother in Austin so she wouldn't be able to even have dinner with them a couple nights during one of my weeks. Nuts. That means I'll probably find myself, like this Christmas, next year with little/nothing to do over Christmas or Thanksgiving. I could easily get some plane ticket deals and take time off from work around those times too. Plus it's winter here in Michigan which, while nice, busted up my knee this year so I'm bitter. California sounds great. What I'd like is a couch or floor to crash on and maybe a guest pass to a gym a few days a week although even a jogging trail would be okay. I could rent a car and drive around too. I like state capitols but usually want to do those with my kids. National Parks are cool too. The last time I was in/near LA we went to the tarpits, the Getty, San Deigo zoo and Disneyland. I loved all of those except, sorry fans, Disneyland. I guess I didn't raise my kids right because neither I nor they were able to get into it. Oh crap I'm planning a vacation already and it's a whole year off. Guest guest
Cruises have never appealed to me. I hear they have a lot of great food though. Whoa wait a second, that's bad! HAHA I'm a nerd. I'd rather visit things, on land, that are unique to the culture/area. I just received, from my mother, what I consider a very cool Christmas gift. My kids are terrified of it. It's a four DVD set of over 10 hours of a particular subject. Now I've seen about 4-6 hours of this. The problem is I fell asleep a couple of times watching it. Now while that might mean it's not that interesting to even me I really do like the material and what I saw was very cool. WHAT IS IT ALREADY? It's a C-Span documentary on the US Capitol building. Very cool stuff eh? I told my kids I'd make them watch it on our next long road trip. They groaned. Guest guest
Actually my kids, when they were younger, would actually ask to go to the local art museum because it has a kids are where you can toss large bean bags around, build things with foam bricks, use chalk, string, etc. My kids love going to capitol buildings. Sure on our recent New England junket they got a little bored/tired with the concept. Heck we went to three in one day once. But they alway ask a lot of questions and have lots of comments. They've been to the ballet, opera and plays which they usually enjoy but lately, in their teen years, groan at the idea of going to. I try to keep those sorts of thing more up to date. Our local symphony, for example, has a concert every year or so where they play theme concerts like one based on Warner Brothers cartoons or Star Wars or something modern. My son and I have tickets to Blue Man Group at our local arena in March. Both of my kids and I saw BMG in Boston earlier this summer. We loved it but my daughter said she didn't want to go this time. Heck tickets were something like $65 this time. I'm not going to spend that kind of money to make her go to something she doesn't want to go to. I did say I'd take her and her friends to a concert sometime and I mean it. I'm not doing Cheeta Girls or something super pop/crap but we missed Red Hot Chili Peppers and I'd be willing to go to something a little more heavy/rock like that. I'll even go to a rap/hiphop concert. My daughter is funny because she's only now starting to try seafood and better cuts of meat. I tell her she's got to hurry up and develop her taste buds if she's going to start dating because there's no way I'm letting some boy take her out to dinner at Mc's. Well I'm rambling now. There's nothing wrong with culturing up your kids. I will admit that ten freaking hours on the US Capitol is daunting even for someone very interested in the subject. My father has his PhD in Poltical Science and is retiring as a graduate college professor in public administration and even he thought that was excessive. What does he know about it though right? Guest guest
Actually that could be really interesting. I know that they groan, but they need to know their American which the Capitol building is very important. Lin 422-338-250 Lhsh@... American by birth, Saved by the grace of God. Guest guest
The past 2 years I've given my daughter concert tickets for her birthday. We've had a blast going! For her 9th birthday we went to see Simpson. That one was actually on her birthday so that was pretty cool. And it was at the famous Ryman Auditorium where the Grand Ole Opry used to be. That was pretty neat. This year I gave her tickets to Kenny Chesney. Her birthday is April & the concert wasn't till July; so we had to wait a bit on that one. And it was like 10 days after my surgery. Oh what fun. LOL! But, we had an absolute blast. I wouldn't trade those times for anything. I'm hoping there will be another good concert this year around her birthday. I really want to take her to Green Day. :-) W 380/255/160 Mike wrote: > Actually my kids, when they were younger, would actually ask to go to > the local art museum because it has a kids are where you can toss large > bean bags around, build things with foam bricks, use chalk, string, etc. > > My kids love going to capitol buildings. Guest guest
Mike in GR, lol...ten hours??? poor kids Isn't that almost child abuse to make them sit in the climate controlled van watching the DVD player while eating snacks and going on a vacation? It doesn't suprise me that you like that sort of vacation or can stomach ten hours of the US Capitol building with four degrees it either takes a lot of patience or balls of fire which ever the case (you are talking to someone who graduated with a B.S. in social work so as you can imagine my time was filled running around in Birkenstock sandals and chasing all the liberal men I could find!) .... anyways, I did get a chance to tour Washington D.C., and it was by far the best vacation I have ever taken. I actaully walked so much that I lost five pounds! P.S. I love NERDS! > Cruises have never appealed to me. I hear they have a lot of great > food though. Whoa wait a second, that's bad!
