i am starting to believe this. very seriously believing it. i have a friend

who has Sjogren's syndrome (dry eyes and mouth) which is an autoimmune

disease. her TSH is 2.97 and her Free hormones are LOW. she told me her doc

said

her other symptoms probably were not related to thyroid (I'd had her ask about

it). believe me...she has all the hypo symptoms.

well..she just sent me some recent labs. and they tested every thing in the

dang book except thyroid antibodies. i couldn't believe it. they tested for

lupus, scleroderma, hepatitis....everything...but not thyroid antibodies

which is also associated with her other autoimmune disease.

i actually wrote her today and i told her that i thought docs would not treat

hypo because they would lose money cause then she would not be taking the

anti-depressant, the cholesterol med, the pain medication,....and whatever else

she's taking.

I have felt this way for several years. I do not think it is my hypo making me

paranoid. I see all the OTC Armour sites disappear then I see doctors that

REFUSE to listen to their patients then I see things like this. It all is

beginning to add up. Horrible to think that the Endocrinology profession as a

whole is this corrupt but it sure is beginning to look like it. I guess after

years of showing dogs and seeing all the politics there, anything where money

AND politics come into play is real scary!

There is another doc in Iowa that does bio-identicle and the other

docs have been trying to run her our of business for a while. Blue

Cross paid very little of her bill. But, when I went to Dr.

in Indiana, they paid most of his bill. Both bills were about the

same.

The Iowa doc talked about her anger at how difficult they made her

life. When insurance companies conspire with the doctors, it's bad.

>>>Anybody else hear of this?

Debbie<<<<

Debbie,

Yes I've heard...because I am a patient of this awesome

(truly TOP Doc) Jackie Springer who's helped me so much

and earned our respect so highly that my hubby and I wanted

to do something in return, so as soon as we heard that a

trial date was set, he called his boss and got out of overtime,

took two days vacation, to drive me across a few states to

see if we could support her by our physical presence or possibly

even testify on her behalf.

However, at the last minute the trial was postponed a whole month

because of a little snow. Very disappointing.

I want to see her license reinstated as Dr. Springer is the

BEST physician I have ever met. She cares and listens to her

patients, respects us, believes we know our own bodies' needs,

and works with us to try for the best combinations of hormones, etc., running an

efficient office, even answering by email within three

business days, amazing.

I had not been able to find anyone else to prescribe Armour

Thyroid and don't know where I'd go... I'm also on Growth Hormone

injections and need adrenal steroids, female replacements and many

other helps (hypopit/hypoadrenal/hypothyroid/sheehan's,etc.) but

have been told by E.R. doctors locally that there isn't a doctor

within 100 miles that can treat me. So I've been driving

to Kansas City from IL to see Dr. Springer.

Think of all the bad-doc's out there who will write out scrips for

mindbending drugs without even doing an exam...as if 'prozac' were

the first thing to try for all complaints, even for children.

Or those who won't even listen to a patient's input/opinions...

or who care more for the $ they can get from vendors for their vacations...It

would seem those types should be sued, not one like this.

Send up prayers for this intelligent and compassionate Endo please,

it would be a travesty to lose her!

Subject: Jackie Springer lost license

I just read on the about.com thryoid site that Jackie Springer, who is

listed on the Top Docs list here, lost her license in KS. The

" official " reason wasn't listed, but did mention a local endo who

didn't care for her prescribing bio-identical hormones & armour.

This is really scary. I swear there's a conspiracy to keep us all

sick by going after the drs who actually help us.

Anybody else hear of this?

I too am a patient of Dr Springer. We drove to Topeka from KC too.

Anyway I called the lab behind Dr Springers office. They gave me a name of a

doc in Lawrence KS. Not sure if he is taking new patients I am still trying to

connect with his nurse.

The name of the Lab is Logic. Don't know where I put the dog gone phone number

for the lab.

Someone suggested calling the pharmacy where you are receiving your growth

hormone from and asking them if they can give you a list of docs who prescrib

there product. I have been almost afraid to do that. What if they don't know

her license is pulled? If they find out will they stop shipping are hormones?

Grrrr.....

Like you DH and I are really impressed with Dr Springer. Just when I found a

good doc and was starting to get results.

I'm a patient of Dr Springer. I didn't find any of what I read on the Kansas

State Board of Healing Arts board actions link to be true in my case.

Dr Springer did as much and far more than any doc I have been to in years. She

prescibes Armour if you ask. So that is a $in? Some of the complaints stated

she didn't take an adequent history nor did she do a physical. I haven't had a

doc do a physical in years. They check my blood pressure, pluse, listen to my

lungs and heart. Nothing else. Doctor Springer does the same but she will stay

in the room and talk to you about you symptoms for 45 minutes to an hour on your

first visit and normally will spend 30 minutes or more on each subsequent visit.

She does extensive lab work just ask the %$#* lab tech. He had a fit when I

came in with my lab work sheet? Too many test, to much work for a one man

office and on and one. What a nasty person he was. LOL She also has an

extensive questionaire that you have to fill out before your first visit. Then

she goes over it with you and ask additional guestions. She even spent 3

different week-ends researching Celiac Disease when I told her that I was a

Celiac. That makes her a bad doc how?

The basic case against Doctor Springer seemed to be she prescribes Armour

instead of Synthroid and the growth hormone issue. One of the complaints was

she told patients they needed to be tested for growth hormone deficency and that

she only preformed two test instead of three. Let me tell you my insurance

would not pay almost $500 a month if the test were not the right ones or the

right amount of tests done.

I have to question patients who go to a doc who specializes in Thryoid and HGH

and then complain when she mentions on the first office visit that from their

symptoms they should be tested for both. What did they go to her for? Most of

it seemed to be based on one woman endro from the Wichita area.

Debbie - This is terrible. I read thru the complaint and it just

seems unbelievable some of the things that they're charging her with.

<< (f) The respondent prescribed Armour Thyroid for the patient,

when she should have prescribed Levothyroxine.>>

This is truly scary when drs are written up for prescribing something

that is perfectly legal. It makes you wonder who is behind all this

-- and what kind of money is involved!

I had thought about making an appt with Dr. Springer, but since I also

live in IL, I was going to try someone closer first. I hope I can

still have a chance to see her.

Is there anything we can do who aren't her patients? We can't really

write testifying to her practice, but is there anything we can do or

anyone else we can write to?

when i went to an ENT and an Endo...neither one of them did a physical before

I'm not the best at getting links to work when I post them, so

Wow they actually name another brand name drug! This is a travesty for

sure. She needs to get the lawyers that the cancer guy used to fight the

FDA. Dr. Bratnitsky or something like that. He was taken to court and

they would just bring in person with success story after success story. He

is the one who has people use their morning urine in some manner to cure

cancer. Sounds ucky but it must work as the judges keep telling the FDA to

monitor his clinic, but leave him alone. No matter how many doctors are

successful clinicians the masses are so into the blood work and short

visits that they want to persecute the ones who are human and will sit and

listen to how a person is really feeling.

I know I am not that far from that area, I am going to find out who her attorney

is and write to them. I will offer a complete history of my trials with

Synthroid and how it totally failed me and Armour has literally saved my life. I

will even offer to testify to this in person as I could get to her trial if it
