Guest guest
Cathy, I have always worn Birkenstock clogs. They are very comfortable and safe for you to wear. You can find a good price on QVC.com - one pair will last years, plus they come in wide widths. The bottom is a rubber base with good grip, and the shoes themselves provide balance. You can wear them all year with or without socks. lisamathis > > > >> Hello all, > > > >> > > > >> Well, somehow the UPS guy came to my apartment without my > > knowledge > > > >> for a SECOND day! Guest guest
I have some I bought at Wal-Mart for work that are slip on w/ a rubber sole. I've had them for a couple of years. They're pretty comfy. Shaped like a tennis shoe w/out the laces. Suede. They have black or brown. I also love my crocs. They are SO VERY comfy. Only I need a new pair...mine are too big now. Guest guest
There is a rubber clog made by Crocs that is supercomfortable and can be thrown in the washer if they get dirty. They come in a variety of colors and are about $30 each. Our local Hallmark stores sell them, but I have seen them other places, too. --- sarrah345 sarrah345@...> wrote: > Hello all, > > I've been thinking about the slip on shoe issue a > lot lately. Guest guest
Cathy - The morning after my surgery the first person to show up at my bedside was an occupational therapist. OMG - she was there to assess my needs for dressing and grooming! I had an open RNY with an incision from just above my belly button to my sternum and I was wearing a binder around my entire torso...and had very little mobility ESPECIALLY when it came to shoes/socks. While I had planned for some additional movement restriction when I went to the hospital (and had packed a pair of slip on sandals to wear home) I was unprepared for just how immobile I was. The therapist suggested (and offered for purchase) a long handled shoe horn as well as a plastic contraption with rope handles that you could slide a sock over and which made it easy to put socks on. I figured I could live with the sandals at home for a bit - but I hate having cold feet (and I live in MN...and my surgery was 11/28) so I opted to buy the " sock assistant " . I think it was $12-14. I can't imagine the shoe horn she offered would have been much more...but it would have enabled me to independently put on any shoe without laces. I'm sure if you called a medical supply store in your area they would have one...or google it on-line. Best wishes! - Diann
Guest guest
Cathy, How about those rubber slip on clogs called Crocs? They wouldn't slip and you could also wear socks with them. Hope this helps, in CA
