Tammy -=- I had my surgery 11/22/06 and the incision that still hurts the

most is the upper left. I can't lay on my stomach or side yet without creating

gas. I've tried exercising on a recumbent bike and that hurts also.

The food question I'm not sure of yet, I'm just moving from mashed to pureed

type foods. If I have any question of problems, I just move back to broth

and mashed potatoes. Call the doc on call and ask!

Being four weeks out --- I would call my doctor's office and get seen

immediately. It won't hurt you to go in and have yourself checked

out!

Mashed potatoes and bananna seems to early for you to be eating four

weeks out --- your new pouch is still trying to heal and is probably

still swelling... you might look at pureed cottage cheese,

fatfree/sugar free yogart, 's Healthy request cream of

chicken soup etc...

I wouldn't think your belly button would still be hurting at a month

out. You might want to have a doctor look at it. My belly button one

never really bothered me at all. It was the one just to the left of it

that gave me issues as that is where they did most of the work w/ the

tools.

hmm I think I was eating cottage cheese, maybe only a couple

spoonfuls, at 11 days out. Bananas and potatoes certainly by four

weeks. I would take it easy at four weeks though. I was eating tuna

salad (fat free mayo of course) at four or five weeks. I tried some

baked chicken too but it was a little dry and felt like a rock

(that's not pleasant by the way). CHEW A LOT whatever it is you try.

Oh and sliced or melted fat free cheese was good at that time too.

Have you called the surgeon. You should be able to get more than water down.

The incision by my belly button bothered me for quite a while. 4-6 wks at

least. I think it was at the 6 wk post-op appointment that my surgeon pulled

out a couple of stiches that should have dissolved but didn't. It got well

after that. Suggest you mention it to your surgeon for a good look by the

professional.
