Guest guest
I saw my PCP yesterday afternoon for an unrelated issue, but I printed out my meds and was ADAMENT to him that he must figure out what to do and how to handle my scripts that he prescribed. He said he'd call my surgeon today and discuss it with him, and a pharmacist I got from the nutritionist I saw yesterday. Evidently at the last support group meeting she was the guest speaker, and " offered her services " to the group if anyone had any questions about their meds. Now I have to have this conversation with my pain doctor. I don't have an appt. with him because I just saw him. I'll try to get him to own up to his responsibility to talk to the surgeon and go over my meds and figure out what to do. My PCP said.....most people (including me) can handle and it's ok if they miss one or two days of meds. There's one I HAVE to take or else I'll start bleeding. Who wants that on top of everything else I'll be dealing with after surgery? I was told that I'd have to be my own advocate, and make sure all the doctors you see, follow through with what they're supposed to do. Don't assume that a doctor will do it automatically! I found that out the hard way.
