Guest guest
There is such a variety on the ship you should do fine. I went on a cruise right before my surgery. It was a blast! Where are you going? Pack light. There's usually a washer & dryer on the ship. I didn't use half the stuff I took. LOL. Guest guest
W, I'm going to Mexico(various places like Cancun, Cozumel, etc), and I am sooo excited! I am not going to pack a lot of things, because I think I will be wearing shorts and t-shirts during the day. I'll have to find something to wear at night for dinner. I think I can wash the shorts and tees... Do you think it will be a problem toting around my protien supplements/drinks? I will probably take some to keep my protien levels high.. > > There is such a variety on the ship you should do fine. I went on a > cruise right before my surgery. It was a blast! Guest guest
No...I don't think it'll be a problem toting the protein around. There's only one or two nights to dress up really fancy shmancy. :-) I enjoyed those nights. The other nights are just casual; but no jeans. Maybe khakis or a simple skirt. Something of that nature. Or you can just hit the buffet for dinner and go in your shorts & tshirts. We did that a couple of nights too. :-) My work, which is who I went on the cruise w/, is doing a Mexican Riviera cruise this year. I doubt I'll go tho because the first 2-3 days are at sea and that's kind of boring. And I want Tim to go w/ me and it's pretty expensive to take someone on this particular cruise. So, maybe next year. W 380/255/160 lisamathis76 wrote: > W, I'm going to Mexico(various places like Cancun, Cozumel, > etc), and I am sooo excited! Guest guest
I have been on a cruise and there was food EVERYWHERE!! I do remember there being lots of yogurt available whenever I wanted it. (At the time I was trying to keep on Weight Watchers.) After the first day or two, I said screw it though. I have not had the surgery yet and don't even know if I will be approved (even though it has been suggested to me by two doctors). I am sure you look at food way differently than even people trying to follow weight watchers on a cruise. Do you know what cruise line you are going on? You should be able to look up sample menus on their website. I know they had low sugar deserts for us every night too. I hope you have a blast! When did you have surgery? Just wondering how long the weight continues to fall off? MEG > > Okay, I am going on a seven nights cruise in the first week of Feb. Guest guest
, my husband and I have been to Cozumel 6 times - we LOVE it! We're avid scuba divers, and the diving is wonderful. It's a great place, low-crime, safe, nice, sweet people. If you need any advice about Cozumel, just let me know. --Cat > > > Okay, I am going on a seven nights cruise in the first week of > Feb. Guest guest
I've never been on a cruise but I would think they'd have shrimp. Eat shrimp...then eat some more shrimp...then some more shrimp...then put some in some baggies, freeze it, and send it to me. Probably could also tackle some turkey/chicken luncheon meats. > > Okay, I am going on a seven nights cruise in the first week of Feb. Guest guest
Hi Meg, thanks for responding. I had lap RNY September of 2006, and I am down well over fifty to sixty pounds (sorry I don't have an exact number but I haven't weighed lately). I feel great! I am going on Norwegian. I will take your advice and look up the information. Thanks, I hadn't even thought of that. You say that you have not had the surgery but had it suggested to you by doctors twice. Does this mean you are working on getting it approved or just trying to decide if you want to do it? Meg, I can tell you that it is the best choice I ever made for myself. I feel so much better, and I move easier etc... I think the weight falls off as long as you follow the program by eating right and exercising. Guest guest
LOL... you should just come with me ... you know we could start our own cruise line for WLS patients although I owe too much on student loans, so you would be stuck financing it! Don't worry; I will do the Congo line! > I've never been on a cruise but I would think they'd have shrimp. Guest guest
I know alot of cruises (royal carribbean for one) promote healthy meals for their menus. Sugar free desserts were good! I attended alot of exercise classes while I was on the cruise too. I like to learn different things while I am on the cruise. I once got my group to attend a dance class cause I needed the points (there are prizes awarded according to how many points you collect One class = 1 point). I LOVED talking walks on the track with the ocean breeze. Jackie in CA lisamathis76 lisamathis76@...> wrote: Hi Meg, thanks for responding. Guest guest
I have no advice, but wanted to say have a WONDERFUL time!!!!! DH's sister and brother in law go on a cruise every year at xmas time. They love it!! Let us know how it goes! Hugs, > > Okay, I am going on a seven nights cruise in the first week of Feb. Guest guest
, diving IS really fun! It's my favorite activity. We're " dive hogs! " DH and I have been certified since 1990 and we take at least one diving trip a year. This year it's a week on Bonaire followed by one on Curacao. On those islands, they have tanks available 24/7 and you can do night dives whenever you like. It's awesome! The reef is right outside the resort on Bonaire. We do several dives on the house reef. Best part? You're weightless! It's one sport you can continue to enjoy even if you get a little heavy. Of course, I'm looking to carrying less lead around - the more fat you have, the more buoyant you are, and the more lead you have to carry. I'm gonna be streamlined! --Cat > > Thanks Cat .... diving sounds really fun > > > > > > , my husband and I have been to Cozumel 6 times - we LOVE it! > > We're avid scuba divers, and the diving is wonderful. Guest guest
My ex saw me last night at my son's basketball scrimage. I hear she had a tough time shopping with my kids for xmas gifts for me because she didn't know my size. It seems she didn't feel comfortable buying me only an XL sweatshirt. It's nice to hear she's having discomfort spending money on at least some clothing considering how much I pay in child support. Guest guest
LOL! Join the club. We're still paying Tim's ex child support for a child that's living w/ us. She has until Friday to agree or disagree w/ the offer we proposed and then we're getting w/ a lawyer to file for modification. We can't afford to pay $250 a week when one of the kids is living w/ us. W 380/255/160 Mike wrote: > My ex saw me last night at my son's basketball scrimage.
