Bless you Robin!

I've got all the ingrediants for this except for the peppers. I'll

make this up and take a picture to post on the site. I have my kids

this weekend and they hate mustard. Tough. They'll like this the

turds. My daughter CLAIMS to hate seafood. Today while shopping she

sampled some Mahi Mahi and actually asked for a second sample. It did

have a light breading but she said she liked it because it was dry.

Uh okay. I can easily dry out a fish! I figure I can come up with

some sort of breading made from oatmeal and other ingrediants.

I'm afraid of sugar...is the honey enough to dump or should it be

replaced with splenda? This sounds like a good dinner recipe!

Honey Mustard Salmon with Lime and Pepper Recipe

1 tablespoon lime juice

2 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon prepared mustard

1 salmon fillet, 4-5 ounces

1/4 small yellow pepper, cut in slices

I just made this and ate it.

1. Good Lord it's barely ANY honey. Get a grip people. Sorry to sound

so harsh but it's not like you're eating a box of chocolates here.

2. I'd almost cut the lime juice in half or by 1/4 and replace with

water. The lime juice is strong.

3. I diced my peppers and laid low with them. I should have used

more. They were wonderful.

4. Costco salmon steaks RUUUULLLLEEEE I couldn't have screwed this up

if I'd tried with these steaks. They're AWEFREAKINGSOME.

5. I didn't use the parchment paper whatever the hell that is. I put

it in a glass baking pan and covered it with tin foil. It cooked up

moist and perfect.

6. I cooked it for 23-25 minutes so it doesn't hurt to add a few

minutes just to get it good and hot.

7. I sprayed the pan with spray extra virgin olive oil

8. I used some Costco Salmon seasoning on top of the olive oil before

putting the salmon in the pan. It added a nice spice.

9. My daughter wanted to add salt pepper. Both she and her brother

finished half a steak but avoided the peppers. Wimps.

10. I could have easily cleared a second steak or at least a half of

another one. It was so easy to eat the salmon especially with the

marinate to dip/brush it into.

11. I wonder what mixing lemon/lime juice would taste like. Good

stuff.

12. Splenda or surgar seems like it would purely nasty with this

recipe. Don't do it. Use honey. Enjoy it.

Hey Mike,

I think I should fly you out here to Long Island (NY), I'm not

kidding! Your food looked like it tasted AWESOME. I don't cook and

my hubby does a tiny bit....we eat a lot of processed food and

takeout food and it is pretty bad (unhealthy I mean). That shrimp

dish..........MAN I wish I could have taken it off the screen!!!!!

I'm in for a BIG change, diet-wise, I know....I have an hour

appointment scheduled with the nutritionist and I think she's

supposed to find out how I currently eat and then tell me how I HAVE

to eat once the surgery is done.

Shell shock!!!!!!

I LOVE shrimp and lobster and garlic and feta cheese!!!!!!!!

Did you cook a lot before your surgery? Just curious.

Mike, thank you for posting those pictures. It helped me because I have been

mourning food for a week. Ever since I got my surgery date. I feel like I'm

losing a best friend. I have been sad and lonely without food to be my comfort

and feel like this is a major detox to my system. Well, I'm sticking to my

pre-op diet because my surgeon is reportedly very strict and if you don't lose

10% or very close, they see it as a lack of committment and they are probably

right. This week I lost 4 lbs even while on my cycle (which means water

retention). Seeing the pics of real food that I could eat post op and it looks

really good and quite frankly looks like stuff I'd happily eat now or before, it

makes me feel so different. Hopeful, that I'm not really losing anything here,

except of course for the diabetes, the joint pain, the high blood pressure,

infertility, etc, etc, etc. Anyway, thanks again. Seeing is believing.

I live alone so cook every day. I open the can, dump it in the bowl

and microwave it. That's cooking right? Okay maybe not.

I'm just enjoying this combining stuff a bit more. I used pre-cooked

shrimp. I used a jar of minced garlic instead of fresh. So I do cut

corners and don't go TOTALLY fresh. Still a little lazy.

My little brother and I used to make crazy soup sometimes when we

were kids. We'd just through in stuff we thought smelled good. It was

strong soup but rarely ever bad. I'm just pretty good at this. Which

is cool.

That shrimp stuff took a whole 20-25 minutes to cook up. Oh and I was

making steaks and broccoli while I was making it too. Piece of cake.

I'm going to make it again for a date Tuesday. I'll throw in a Pinot

Gris wine too. I'm betting she likes it.

LOL... FINE!!! I will lighten up and try the damn honey in it! I plan

to try the others as well, and you are right Sea Food Rocks! By the

way, I am not sure why I was so concerned about the honey, because

yesterdy my sister and I went to Costco and I ate at least three

samples of the Honey smoked Salmon.... Go figure! By the way, is it

just me, or does Costco seem like a buffet at times! I love it.

Yesterday, I had salmon, sausage, duck, and lamb! I filled my pouch

with protien and left happy, plus I saved a ton of money. I could not

find the soy crips for some reason, but got everything else I needed.

Costco is awesome for lunch/samples. They know me by name now. I have 2-

3 samples of their protein stuff. Glazed meats that are glazed with

honey don't really have that much carb wise compared to eating sweets.

I can't really handle their lamb. Then again I've never been a big fan

of lamb. Duck is good. Sausage can be good or weird depending on

flavorings. Salmon is awesome of course. What about their grilled/other

chickens. They've also frequently got various kinds of turkey or ham.

Damn I'm going to have to go there tomorrow!

Hands down the Salmon wins! You are right in that sometimes the

sausages are well, uhmm... different at times and could be considered

mystery meats at best. The ones yesterday tasted like good old

fashioned breakfast links, so I ate plenty! The duck was okay, but it

wasn't that great. The chicken is really good, but I can't eat a

whole bird within enough time frame before it goes bad... with me

being the only one at home, I can't put down the bird fast

enough...although the flavor is great and tenderness is a plus. ----
