Guest guest
Well, we are a group of two!! LOL. I am tired even this morning upon waking--not sleepy tired, just physically tired. I keep thinking: WHAT is causing this? I'm impatient, too. Because I figure it's either the progesterone is not high enough yet, or it's my low testosterone. I'm working on both, but I WANT THE RESULTS TO HURRY UP!! Your symptoms do sound like you are not on enough Armour. You and I are close---I do 3 grains during the day, and 1/4 grain at night. I'm on an optimal dose, though, it appears. What I'm going through is something else. By the way, I had a period Dec. 2nd, then had one on the 21st, which I presume was because of taking higher doses of progesterone beginning the week previous. NOW I've not had one since, but so notice hormonal " swings " . WAHHHHH. This is the part where I would want to be MALE!!!!!! Let's see--for one week out of each month, I could change my name to JAMES so prevent a period, then revert back to JANIE. But then, with all this female hormonal Peri mess, I will need to be JAMES for quite awhile. You'll like what happens to you on the testosterone. grin, grin. How much are you on again? JAMES > > All of a sudden I have no period at all! I am once again experiencing joint pain, cold hands, tiredness...and tonight....cramps!!!!!!! I started testosterone cream 2 days ago due to low sex drive and will be going in next Monday for some blood work. I had started to feel so much better. Now, I don't want to cook, do any kind of housework or even go to work (though I do). > > I am on 3 grains of Armour and started adding 1/2 grain at bedtime last night..... > > I think I am joining you in the peri side of life....*sigh* > >
Guest guest
Janie, when in Estrogen dominance, it will EAT your thyroid meds! Definitely need to get your progesterone up. I also found that though I needed the Estrogen, I had to increase my already high thyroid meds more! *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
I think I have been taking enough to compensate for the estrogen binding that's been going on--or at least my free T3 labs show that. Maybe I'll experiment anyway and up another 1/4 grain. I'm hesitant since I'm getting palps again, tho. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH. Meno is SCREWING ME UP!!! Guest guest
Janie, I seem to recall you were using testosterone as a supplement...and getting great results. But recently some people in the medical community have suggested long term use of it may cause heart problems. I assumed this was just a way for the FDA to refuse to allow doctors to give women testosterone patches...but what if there is a grain of truth to this? Do you still use Testosterone? And if so, is it possible your body needs less of it now than when you started ? At 06:01 AM 1/18/2005 +0000, you wrote: >Is anyone else identifying with my experience? Just a thought. Also, I have read in a few places that NORMAL perimenopause involves periods of fatigue. How is a person supposed to know what normal is in the midst of all the change? An interesting book is Yoga and the Wisdom of Menopause by Suza Francina. Even if you are not interested in yoga, it has several stories by women who have gone through menopause, which I found helpful. R. Guest guest
Yup, that hits it on the spot. Is what I am gong through NORMAL, or not?? And if it's normal, WHAT THE HECK can I do? grrrr. Hopefully, I'll find more relief the longer I am on progesterone. I have also read that palps are common. But again, I don't know since we thyroid/adrenal patients have palps for MANY reasons. GRRRR. , not Janie > , he he, I wonder if you could be getting palps from adrenal > issues? I am pretty sure my glandular causes me some problems with my heartbeat and pulse. Just a thought. Guest guest
Yup, sounds like you need to go more slowly......and make sure other issues are going good. > I am so impatient that I upped my dose another 1/2 grain two nights ago and woke up with a pounding heart, headache and feeling totally lousy today. So, tonight I will 1/4 grain it as I am sure I am still very hypo.
Guest guest
Welcome to the World of PeriMeno Changes Janie. I could bet that I've been in this since I was around 30 yrs old (no progesterone found in my body at around that age), and I am now 53. I'm on progesterone cream, but could bet that I now need estrogen to go with it. I need the testing too, though I know what the progesterone part is going to say, zilch, nada. I love being a woman, but if the guys had to go through all this, there would be massive worldwide suicide. Mine has been so pronounced probably because I went off of the horse estrogen stuff yrs ago, and I simply won't take that form of it. I'm looking at the oestrogel now, but I know I need the saliva testing on that first before I make that leap. If money only grew on trees. My hot flashes stopped for about a yr, at one point. Why they stopped, I don't know, but they picked up the pace again starting back a couple of yrs ago. Yes, I identify. Peri-Meno SUCKS! Am I the lone ranger? > > > Is anyone else identifying with my experience? Guest guest
Hear hear for not going to work. Wish I didn't have to. Re: Peri-Meno SUCKS! Mine has been so pronounced probably because I went off of the horse estrogen stuff yrs ago... The ONLY time I felt fantastic hormonally is when I was on Femhrt--a synthetic HRT. I was on it almost 2 years, then got off with the Progestin scare. Now I'm on progesterone cream alone, trying to see if I can raise my progesterone high enough to feel decent again. LOL. But, even with all this peri-crap, I still sing mighty, mighy praises that I'm on Armour and not Synthroid while going through this!!!
