It's just conjecture on my part...but I thought that it had something to do with the body learning to utilize the thyroid hormone again...that the body just had to do some adjustment to even every thing out. the ringing in the ears is hard to get rid of according to some folks here...but hang in there. and if your legs are just starting to ache at night like mine, then you might want to add 1/4 grain at nighttime...my legs would usually start that aching..and basically restless legs... around 8:30 or so. cindi

Guest guest
Betty my worst unresolved symptom is leg pain. I am now on 3 1/2 grains of armour and I still have awful leg pain. I also have tendon/ligament pain in my groin/ankles and when I am walking it stops me dead in my tracks. A minute or so later I can start walking again and it will be ok for a few more paces and then it hits again. This is what my doc calls fibromyalgia/cfs although a lot of people here have had that and are of the opinion that it is just untreated or undertreated hypo. You are still on quite a low dose, it will probably disappear when you get on a higher dose depending on how long you have been hypo and untreated Lynda (in the UK) Re: achey legs Cindi....no my legs ache all day.Upped the dosage 5 weeks ago ...Betty

Guest guest
Betty, thats just what happens to me why dont you divide the dosage, and take half/half, thats what I am doing, I think we both have a very weak heart from this hypo, is your potassium low, my holistic doc told me to take 2 pills of potassium a day, he says thats it helos control the activity of the heart, today I havent felt fast heartbeats so maybe its working, he said it shoudl work within a few days, try those pills to see if it goes away
Guest guest
Oh my bettey your tsh is worse than mine! that sucks you must feel so sick, anyway you know what my pulse has been low in the high 60's!!! I got all crazy and scared but its ok you wont die, I get dizzy and feel horrible, but dont get anxious thats what i do and it worsens everything, also my BP is a mess it goes up and down all day long! so take it easy girl we are in this together I know its scary I stay home with my 2 girls and feel so scared that i will pass out and leave them unattended and a million thoughts go through my mind, liek what if I passout and they open the door and run to the streets, and get hit by a car! aghh so when i start thinking that i get a panic attack and I feel worse, but what i have been doing is praying, grab a bible and read psalm 41, and talk to god an dtell him to help you through this, the other day when i felt a panic attack come on, I started praying and it left! so prayer does help. And it still might level out. The only thing I can think of to check that is to back down again...stay there a week or so..then up by 1/4 grain and see if that does it. let's see if anyone has any other ideas. cindi

Guest guest
Betty Tish might be able to answer this better than I can but it sounds adrenal to me. It often shows when you try to increase the armour even by a small amount. If your adrenals are fatigued they struggle to function properly. I was also waking in the middle of the night feeling really hot. Now that I have been on adrenal support for awhile I sleep right through the night. When you wake up in the middle of the night are you wide awake? Lynda Re: achey legs Lynda I wondered about my adrenal.I take nothing for them no.I wake up but not by a pounding heart.I feel warm. But I sleep in water bed which could be to warm also..Betty

Guest guest
I started out taking hydrocortisone 5mg x 4 times a day but even after many months it did not seem to be making a big difference.
