Guest guest
How do the prices of Dr. 's vitamins compair to walmart or wherever? I'm like most people and want to save as much as I can. LOL Do you pick them up in the office or have them mailed? If you pick them up in the office do you save shipping?? Do you know how their protein drinks and meal replacements compair to others? I think I read somewhere that at the 10 day diet meeting they have samples you can try, am I correct? What does the Flax seed oil do for you? Why do you take it as oil instead of a pill? How does it taste? Never had it before. LOL How many pills (vitamins) a day do you take? I'm only taking one medication for Diabetes and started taking a vitamin. I take it first thing in the morning. Do I have to take the vitamins more than once a day? It's easy for me to remember the morning ones, just not sure abt the others. With a 9 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old things get to busy during the day to remember the others. LOL Any suggestions on that would be great. Thanks, > > Vitamins: Bariatric Advangtage Chewable Multi Formula, Bariatric > Advantage Sublingual B-12, Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate w/ > vitamin D, Bariatric Advantage Chewable Iron... Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I just compaired prices from bariatricadvantage.com to Dr. 's. Dr. was cheaper a dollar or two. > > > > Vitamins: Bariatric Advangtage Chewable Multi Formula, Bariatric > > Advantage Sublingual B-12, Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate w/ > > vitamin D, Bariatric Advantage Chewable Iron... Guest guest
, I haven't compared the prices of Dr. 's to Walmart or any other place. I just happen to find the Bariatric Advantage vitiams to be tasty, no dumping, specially made for us, etc... I usually order mine from his office, and they are shipped UPS. I don't know about saving any money, but I wanted the best for my health. As for their protein drinks, I drink the hot coco protien drink which has 27grams protien plus vitamins very tasty. I drink this in place of coffee in the mornings. I usually add one table spoon of Organic unprocessed flax oil to it. Why the flax oil? It is recommened by Dr. for hair and skin health. It is loaded with essentail fatty acids. It is good for energy and depression, and it makes your skin dewy. Why oil and not the caspule, just preference. I started flax oil two weeks postop, and I couldn't swallow a big pill so they told us to add a tablespoon into a protien drink. It is a mild flavor similar to olive oil. The ten day diet--- yes you get to try samples, but be careful cause your taste will greatly change after surgery. For example, I loved the cream of chicken soup pre - op, but nearly threw it up postop. I take one iron pill, one B-12, two multis and two clacuims, the multis and calcuims are broken up to one in the am and one in the pm. Wow, that was a lot of information. I hope you're not asleep at this point! Anyways, hope this helps. Take care, lisamathis >
Guest guest
That's some GREAT info. I really appreciate it. I guess I'll find out abt the Flex seed oil stuff when I see the dietitan on Tues or wed. How far are you out and have you started loosing hair yet? If you have, do you think the flex seed has helped? You take a b-12 pill AND get b-12 shots? I don't know anything about b-12 either. LOL I guess I really need to read up on the vitamins. Guest guest
Thanks for the Hug ! I am three months out and have not lost any hair as of yet... I am cramming down the protien in hopes of keeping it. Yes, I do get a B-12 shot once a month, and I take the pill. I had problems w/ B-12 before surgery, so I cover both tracks. > That's some GREAT info. I really appreciate it. Guest guest
I take one of these: http://tinyurl.com/yajmxg I take two generic Calcium Citrate (836mg) + Vit D3 (400IU) tablets. I take a fish oil tablet too just for the heck of it. I do the above in the morning and in the evening. I took some metamucil once over the last year to alleviate a bout of constipation. I " take " a couple fresh fruits a day, vegetables and some other fiber every day. I took some tylenol recently for abuse I inflicted on my knee (damned ice). Other than all that I'm not taking any pills/suppliments. Be sure to get your bloodwork done " regularly " to see if you're lacking in any area. Guest guest
Getting more protein in your diet will help with the hair loss. I didn't have any that I noticed and didn't take any suppliments to avoid it so no experience there. My brother and father eat flax seed (the actually flax seed not the oil) on cereal for regularity. My father is older and my brother is an organic goof ball (I say goof ball not to decry organics but because he's an unhealthy organic and make poor diet choice IMHO though they are organic). Staying regular is big on my lists of positives so if that's not occuring this is a great idea. Mike in GR > > > > , I haven't compared the prices of Dr. 's to Walmart or > > any other place.
