Guest guest
I had my surgery three and a half weeks ago and have only lost 16 lbs. I feel like I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure out what. I do know that I have a very hard time taking in the amount of water I'm supposed to. I'm only getting in 6 8oz glasses a day. I was just wondering if anyone else had slow weight loss at first and had any suggestions. Guest guest
My first month was slow too. I'm averaging right now about 15-20 lbs a month and I'm into my third month. I brought this concern up with my surgeon that I wasn't losing enough and he told me that everyone's body is different...but a good goal to stick to is 10 lbs a month. He told me that if i lost atleast 10 a month i would be doing well. > > i swung by my md today n jumped on the scale. surg i was > 335 today > > 309.. 26 lbs in a month. i feel kinda disappointed. like it should > of > > been more.. i dont know. i no i can not compare mine to others, > lol.. > > better 26 off than on.. c ya donna > > > > > > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > Access over 1 million songs - Yahoo! Guest guest
You are doing something wrong. You're sweating this too much too early on. Give yourself and your body a break. You've been through some major surgery. You probably gained massive water weight from all the IV crap they pumped into you during/around surgery. You're losing nearly a pound a day and that's not enough? Yes it is. Check with your doctor at your one month appointment. I'll bet your average to above average. Guest guest
Donna, I think everyone's body just goes at it's own pace. If you know you're doing what you're supposed to be doing, I would try not to worry about it, because you are losing. Maybe it would help to not worry too much, if you weighed less often? Guest guest
Donna, I was exactly where you are now, only about 9 weeks ago. As a matter of fact, that is how I found this group. I was panicing, then several of the people on the site assured me that many people reach a stall point at about 3 weeks, be patient and just make sure you do what you are supossed to. Well, they helped, I listened, and am now at almost 60 lbs down at 11 weeks, so just take a deep breath, and as long as you are doing what you are supossed to be, just give it some time. Your body is adjusting to a lot right now, from your new way of eating to having a totally rearranged inner workings, so you are doing just fine and keep up the good work.
