Guest guest
For the month before my surgery I kept to a well balanced diet and watched what I hate. My " last supper " however I fell off the wagon*LOL* My best friend got a bunch of us together for a friends night. We had bbq meatballs...meat, cheese, fruit, and veggie trays, chips and dip, cookies, some chinese and of course margarittas and jello shots ! Had a little bit of everything since I knew I wouldn't eat alot of it for a while ! > > Ever since I read about someone's > Last Supper here at the Olive Garden, > I have started wondering what my last > real meal will be. > > What did you guys do for your " Last Supper " ? > > Joanie > > >
Guest guest
Mine was hot wings, bacon cheese fries and a mudslide. Guest guest
Hi Joan, If I recall correctly, we grilled a pretty large steak and had shrimp with it. Lin 422-338-250 Lhsh@... Guest guest
I also did really well for the 2 months prior to surgery because I had to lose 15 pounds by the last nutritionist visit. I wanted to overshoot it because my surgery was 1/5 weeks after Thanksgiving and I was scared I'd gain. Even though the nutritionist said that nothing is necessarily off limits permanently after the surgery (like several months later), I went and had chicken and dumplings at Cracker Barrel about a week before surgery. I'm from Texas originally and love southern cooking and was afraid that would be too many carbs to have after. I also had a fried seafood lunch the week before because I was afraid the fat would be something I wouldn't ever be able to have again. I'm not proud of it, but like I said, those are 2 things that I'm not sure I ever will eat again and I wanted just one last shot. in MI > > > > Ever since I read about someone's > > Last Supper here at the Olive Garden, > > I have started wondering what my last > > real meal will be. > > > > What did you guys do for your " Last Supper " ? > > > > Joanie > > > > > >

Guest guest
Tonight was it!!! Start clear liquids in the a.m. and surgery Friday morning! Made it myself! It was: (healthy, lol) boneless, skinless chicken breast stuffed with portabello mushrooms, spinach, sundried tomatoes and goat cheese - English peas Spinach and (uh oh) garlic bread! small glass of wine and a sugar free popsicle for dessert! Guest guest
Sounds fantastic! Do you have a recipe(s) or just toss the stuff together? I just had some goat cheese samples at Costco yesterday. I think I'll mix it with some seafood if I'm able to convince someone to join me for dinner. I usually do feta cheese but goat sounds great too especially with tomatoes and spinach. Guest guest
Well, I definately did NOT do a buffet lol. We went to Ruby Tuesdays, I had a burger with fries and their salad, but that was 3 days prior. The day before, I ate light and healthy, salads all the way. I worked so hard to lose the small 10lbs before surgery, I wasn't about to gain 2 overnight. I had my " last supper " but it was small and healthy. Choose wisely. Best of luck Molly LAP RNY 10/4/06 318/270/150 > > Ever since I read about someone's > Last Supper here at the Olive Garden, > I have started wondering what my last > real meal will be. > > What did you guys do for your " Last Supper " ? > > Joanie > > >
Guest guest
That's what I'm thinking, , that I won't ever be able to go out to eat with friends, anymore... and in Dayton, that's about all there is to do. Joanie

Guest guest
I guess the question is when your last meal with be. My surgeon has me on a Medifast liquid diet until the surgery and then the last three days I'm on full liquids and clear liquids. So, I think I've already had my last meal. lol. And sadly I don't remember it. It's bad because I feel like since I've received my approval and surgery date, I'm mourning food. I feel like I " ve lost my best friend. Don't know if anyone else felt like this. Joan3424@... wrote: Ever since I read about someone's Last Supper here at the Olive Garden, I have started wondering what my last real meal will be. Guest guest
Now there is a thought last supper, I'll have to think on that one, my cholesterol shot up to 273, we were eating out and my doctor told to bag the eating out or I was going on Lipitor, and start exercising, walking and cook at home. So that could be a really big night for me, should it be before we leave for San Diego or do it in Mexicalli. I haven't told that many people that I having gastric by pass. I figured I'd tell them after I got back and a couple of months had passed.

Guest guest
I've gone to a chinese buffet since surgery. I recommend using the small plates. I already enjoyed the chicken and seafood dishes so I stayed with those. Lots of fried and sweetened things to avoid though. I was never big on rice either. > > > > Ever since I read about someone's > > Last Supper here at the Olive Garden, > > I have started wondering what my last > > real meal will be. > > > > What did you guys do for your " Last Supper " ? > > > > Joanie > > > > > >
Guest guest
Well, I can't say I ate healthy for my last supper. Now the night before surgery, I had to eat clear liquids, but the night before that, I had pizza and cinnastix from Dominos Pizza. It was pretty delicious. I am glad I did it. I spent a couple weeks saying my goodbyes to different foods, old friends, before I was ready to move on to new horizons. Guest guest
Hi Gang, I never really had a " last meal " because with my surgeon (Dr.Suh) if you gain even 1 lb he will not do surgery. I was sooo afraid that I would gain so I ate very lightly. What happened with me is that they called me on a Friday and told me I was having surgery the next Friday and I had to come in on Monday for my pre-op and then Tuesday I had to start a clear liquid diet, so no " last meal " but that is totally fine with me. I had the surgery and don't miss a thing! It's is the best decision I've made! Take Care in CA

Guest guest
My LAST SUPPERS took place for a week before surgery. BIG MISTAKE. My blood sugars climbed so high my surgery was cancelled three times in one week. I was admitted overnight into the hospital and pumped full of insulin then rushed into surgery hours before my insurance authorization was scheduled to expire! Word of advice to pre ops: Food isn't going anywhere! They are NOT gonna stop making it. Don't be so anxious to return to your own eating habits. THINK ABOUT THE REASONS YOU ARE HAVING SURGERY!!!
