Guest guest
Okay. I don't take as high a dose as most people here do, so I guess I could just empty some caplsules and try and get the same amount put back into a bunch of little capsules that are only part full. However, Ithink the putting of a little uder my tongue was probably a pretty darn equal amount everytime.....becasue it was always the amount of a small tap on the capsule. Probably just about 10 mg. I read that Andy had suggested that every 15 minutes would be a great dosing interval....so I was trying to be even more frequent than every 3 hours. QUESTION: However,if I am taking real small amounts, isn't the blood serum level then always coming close to bottoming out??? I can't handle high levels of ALA like most people here can. Does that then mean that I should not even try and do ALA at all yet? I did 7 months of DMSA....never got up to a full dose of that either...about 1/2 dose. Large ammounts are too much for me. PROBLEM: What to do if you live 18 miles form anything, live alone, and do not always wake up to an alarm clock in the middle of the night? I would generally try to dose about every 2 hours in the middle of the night, but then there were times where 5-6 hours had gone by before I woke....no matter how many zillion times I would check to see see that the alarm is working, sometimes i slept right through it....and it is a loud and noisy one that goes on for a long time. ANy suggestions? ~Inga on 11/11/04 3:00 PM, tk200192071 at tk200192071@... wrote: > > > >> 2 questions Ihave been wanting toask: >> >> 1) Everytime one quits a round of ALA , there is redistribtution > occurring, >> right? > > --- Some, correct > > >> >> 2) When I dod DMSA/ALA, during the day, I put small ammounts under > my tongue >> as frequently as every hour, but then at night time I obviously > slow down. Guest guest
Hi, On Thu, 11 Nov 2004 16:21:59 -0800, Ingrid Mager <wolfiebear@...> wrote: > I read that Andy had suggested that every 15 minutes would be a great > dosing > interval....so I was trying to be even more frequent than every 3 hours. 15 minutes would be a good idea *if* you did it day and night and *if* the dose was the same each time. Better to stick to every two or three hours and keep it even, it's *much* healthier. > However,if I am taking real small amounts, isn't the blood serum level > then > always coming close to bottoming out??? Andy suggests starting with something like 25 milligrams and adjusting up and down depending on symptoms. > I can't handle high levels of ALA like most people here can. If thirty is too much, half the capsules and try fifteen. > What to do if you live 18 miles form anything, live alone, and do not > always > wake up to an alarm clock in the middle of the night? Just a couple of suggestions: Try and get as much rest as you can before you start a round. Go to bed on time, so you're not exhausted by the time you go to sleep --if you can't sleep that early, just lounge with a book or a movie or whatever, so your body can rest. Try setting the alarm for every three hours at night, so you get some quality sleep between waking times. If that doesn't work try four hour intervals. Try a different alarm clock for each waking up time, so you don't get used to the noise it makes. Pay attention to the times when you *do* wake up on time and try to figure out what makes it work. Guest guest
a, I was just doing a little bit out of the capsule under my tongue everytime and felt like that was a pretty darn even and accurate measure, but somebody suggested to me that that inaccuracy might have a lot to do with why I did not do so well on it. How are you dividing the doses? ~Inga > > Hi Ingrid. My son was having trouble with even 6 mg on a 3hr dose, > day and night. I added 20mg vit C with ea dose and he handled the > round much better. Guest guest
Because I have never NOT divided equally and stayed on a 3 hr schedule, I wouldn't know about things that might happen if not done accurately. YKWIM? It has alot to do with doing this to my son and not myself. Anyway, I divide a cap into smaller doses and syringe it in. But, I do know that vit C did something huge for him, he was not doing well with the last few rounds and I was dreading the next round and then I remembered vit C. It helped. > a, > I was just doing a little bit out of the capsule under my tongue everytime > and felt like that was a pretty darn even and accurate measure, but somebody > suggested to me that that inaccuracy might have a lot to do with why I did > not do so well on it. > > How are you dividing the doses? > > ~Inga
