My legs are still very weak.My balance is good but my legs ache terrible. The muscles burn like I have been walking miles. I noticed when my legs hurt so does my lower back. It's only been 6 months since my surgery so I'm being patient.I'm grateful I can walk without tripping or falling. I will see my nuerologist here in Va. on the 20th.Curious to see what he says. All in all my life is much improved. It's funny after so many years of pain it's hard to remember what hurt when! lol ! The gremlins are gone for the most part.Life is good!! Gentle hugs, Lee " Make yourself a blessing to someone.Your kind smile or pat on the back might pull someone back from the edge. Guest guest
Jan Years ago I was required to include a video in a training kit for community nurses. The topic was " The Essential Aging Process " . The video I finally chose was from Toronto and included a cartoon with little miners digging frantically in the femur when the person walked, but sitting down when the person rested, or moved slowly. It was a powerful tool to reinforce the message that walking is really the best exercise to prevent/reverse osteoporosis. Since the beginning of the year when I injured my knee I have not been " allowed " to walk for exercise - but I am doing aquatherapy - lots of weight bearing - but in a pool.
